i just saw these rims on ebay and i'm liking them and especially the price. my question is will they clear z32 brakes and i'm guessing they already clear coilovers with that low offset. i was also wondering if anyone would know they'd look on a kouki s14 like how much it'll stick out? or will it be flush etc...

thanks! i tried searching but no dice.

Chrislis just installed 17x9 0 offset wheels. You can see his pics here...zerothread?id=216838

Your wheels will stick out about 13mm less.

Not sure about clearing the Z brakes...

nice thanks for the info, i'm just wondering how did your arrive at the 13mm less sticking out. is there some kind of a formula to measure this stuff?

In the 'New Wheel FAQ' at the top of this forum, theres a good calculator.http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp

Since your wheels have the same offset as Chris's and yours are an inch narrower, you'll have 1/2 inch (12.7mm) more clearance on both sides.

Good wheel selection IMO!

Hey look at that, i had almost the same question. I currently have been looking for wheels and fitment topics for my s13 240sx. Still trying to learn a few things here and there. I found these same Sportmax 002 16x8 w/0mm and the 15x8 w/15mm wheels and was wondering the same thing. Well according to the Offset calculator:

OEM S13 7 spoke: 15x6 w/40mm offset

15x8 w/15mmInner Clearance: THE SAME (the inside of the wheel to the strut housing)Outer Position: EXTEND an extra 50mm (position of the outside edge of the wheel)

16x8 w/0mmInner Clearance: 15mm MORE (the inside of the wheel to the strut housing)Outer Position: EXTEND an extra 65mm (position of the outside edge of the wheel)

Now from this information, this means that the 15x8s will fit fine on the inside but extend out an extra 50mm when compare to the OEM wheels. Correct me if i am wrong with any of this as i am also learning more & more about wheels, fitment, etc. The extra 50mm shouldnt be a problem if the correct suspension height and tire combo is used. Right?

Also from this info, the 16x8s should fit but a 15mm spacer is required to achieve correct fitment? Or is it that they'll be 15mm further away from the strut? Then that would mean that NO spacer is required and theyll just stick out more? If i use a spacer, wont that push the wheel further away from the strut? Also these wheels will stick out an additional 65mm in comparison with the OEM wheels. Suspension and tire combo will play a role aswell.

... I've heard good about these wheels even though at first i didnt think too well of them. They are pretty cheap and the manufacturer Sportmax doesnt seem like a well known brand, im a firm believer of "you get what you pay for" but this is so cheap that i wouldnt mind picking up a set to start off with. To me, they seem like a decent set of wheels and when matched with a nice set of sticky sports tires would get the job done, atleast as my first wheel upgrade. Im mostly concerned with grip and by no means an experienced driver. I know how to drive but still a novice driver. Sorry to thread jack dude but id figured id ask for the both of us and others wondering about the Sportmaxs and or these issues. Oh btw i plan on using Q45 front calipers/brakes and OEM rear brakes all with their own corresponding brake pads.

Heres the models i like:

HERE comes the spoon train...cho cho

this is what 16x8 0 offset looks like. you know if you add a 15mm spacer that would put it to 16x8 -15 offset as in Negative (same specs as the Precedeo Demon Camber Wheels).

infamous jdm rice Precedo demon camber

btw you should checkout the FAQ stickies. that should clear your confusion..

Stickies and "Search" button FTW!

Oh ok. So the 15mm spacer will push the offset to -15mm, not +15. The actually mounting hub on the wheel will now be further past the middle of the wheel and more towards the inside therefore giving it a negative offset. This would be for someone that wants to get the widest/deepest wheel/lip combo. But doesnt it keep pushing the wheel outwards towards the fenders even more!?

I personally want to try the 15x8 w/ +15mm or 16x8 w +15mm and not use a spacer if possible. Also none of that excessice negative camber or rolled fenders stuff. Im more or less looking for a straight fit without too much hassle. Later in the future, if and when i have the money id be more willing to do the extra work if needed.

I dont really know of anything that would really fit like that other than old school wheels or custom made wheels. I mean you could get some Diamond racing wheels but they dont really look good. There more for...well racing. http://www.diamondracingwheels.com Or get those sportmax's.

Just noticed this. The 16x8 0 offset will have 15mm more clearance on the inside (15mm further away from the strut). They will be pretty flush without spacer.

I've got some 002s on the way (be here next week) for my DD, but I'll try them out on my coupe with 30mm Z brakes, but I'm sure they'll clear. I'll get pics if anyone wants/needs them. Probably be without tires, as I can't find any 235/45/16 around apparently.

I bought the setup as is, another guy had them redrilled. This was an all stock R32 GTST setup, so the brembos were stock as well, just redrilled.

Only place I've heard of lately to get predrilled 4lug brembos for Z32 brakes is heavythrottle.

Is anyone going to answer the question at hand? I really want to know if the Sportmax 002 15x8 or 16x7 will clear z32 brakes! Cheap wheels and tires rule but do me no good if they won't fit.

If you'll noticed my posts, my 16x8s will be here Monday, I'll get pics (without tires) next week sometime with my 30mm Z32 brakes. But as a guess a 8" 0 offset wheel should clear without a problem, but we'll see.

Edit: Damn they required signature, not getting them til I pick them up tomorrow after work.
