Can't complain about these for the price I don't think.

Across the front face they are 17 1/4 inch from lip to lip. Width from edge to edge is 9 inches.

Will try to get pics on the car with Z brakes by Saturday (weather def went downhill today).

FYI: For any that didn't know, these will NOT clear Z32 brakes. Tested them on my coupe with 30mm and didn't clear even with 5mm spacer. A 10mm spacer might work, but still be close.

I agree, those wheels are SWEET!

They remind me of my Watanabe's.

I just can't decide on gunmetal or black centers?

Again, Nice wheels.BrianBlack 93 240SX 5speed hatch

flamers aside, I wonder if the 38 offset w/ a 5mm spacer(or more) will clear 26mm Z32 calipers. I think I may sell my SSR Integrals for a set of these (no fun having a set of used wheels that are no longer made any more).

What 38 offset? Other wheels?

If different wheels, then it'll all depend on the spoke design.

I'm assuming she means the Sportmax 002 wheels in a +38 since that's the wheel this thread is about.

I think only the 16x7 are available in the +38, with the 16x8 being +0. I do think the 002's are available in 15x8 +38.

Oh, didn't know they had a +38 version.

I would guess the hub area and spoke design are the same, so the +38 wouldn't fit Z brakes either.

I've seen various sellers who seem to have different ideas of what actually is available with the Sportmax 002. It's possible that the info I have is wrong. The website isn't very helpful.

I've talked with 5 different places that carry this wheel.

Some of them didn't know they were available in 16's or if they did. They didn't know that they were available in 16x8.

I wanted to order two 16x8's and see how they fit but, found out I couldn't just order two. I had to order four wheels.

I talked with BomexS13 today at C2auto.com. He said the wheels would be on sale for a group buy for NICO subscribers. Price shipped to me in southern Missouri was $399.

That was the best price I found.

Yeah, I was talking about the +38 Sportmax 002 that I saw in the 16x7 size on EdgeRacing.com (they're having a sale on them btw)

Biggie: You say they didn't clear your z calipers, what size calipers do you have? 30mm or 26mm? And how bad was it? Could you guesstimate how many mm more you would need or is it just bad spoke design all-together?

If I got the 16's in +38 I'd intend on getting some good spacers to go with them anyway, but if there's no hope because of the spoke design then oh well. I was thinking of getting one anyway just for a spare. I need a spare 16" in my trunk for when my SSR's are mounted.

BadMojo: I forgot did you ever get those Team Dynamics wheels or was that someone else?

That was me, but I never did get them. It was going to take too long to get them on the Slow Boat from England, and I didn't want to buy 5 wheels or get in a situation where I bend one and have to wait 4 months for a replacement. PA roads are about as good as Delaware roads, so it's really easy to bend a wheel around here (actually killed one of my steelies a few months back).

Since I have some Blizzaks on my good ol' 15" steelies, I want to get something cheap to mount some high perf. summer tires on. The Sportmax 16" are cheap, not too heavy and since they're readily available and cheap it's not a big deal if I bend one on another monster pothole.

^True. How heavy are they exactly? I can't find the info which is somewhat suspicious IMO. They're probably 19lbs,

With the 16x8 0 and I have the 30mm and tried it with a 5mm spacer. Its gonna require at least a 10mm and probably 15mm.

These are just a bad spoke design for trying to clear Z brakes. I was considering a set for my coupe, but won't do it now due to the Z brake problems.

I see. Well, it's ok. Some of the offerings from Rota look decent and have better spoke designs.
