15k$ to use on my S14.. what do i do?

I have 15k and a stock S14.. and i have no idea what to do with it... i have been told to put some that rb engine thingy in it or put the sr20 engine thingy in it but i donno what im doing =p

so uh.. oh yeah it has like 170k miles on it.. so something is probably worn down.. the clutch is replaced though =D but i was just wondering what i should do with it.... i dont care much what it looks like on the outside, i do kinda wnat a new interior and i want it to be fast and have good handling and stuff.. .. that means like wider tyres right? it hink so =d okay well.. just gimme your suggestions of what i should do to the whole thing =D like completely redo every bit of it... except the exterior and the sound .. leave that out.. and no video or playstation **** =D thx

oh yeah its a 95 =d and i wanna get it converted to a 98 model.. thats another thing o_o ...

learn everything about the car before you go out and spend that very large sum of money on it.

You know you're gonna get burned, right? but I'll try to help you out before they get to you...

what would I do with 15k? 1. whiteline or energy suspension bushings- Mad driving time

2. Zeal B6 coilovers- ridiulous amts of driving

3. cusco front/rear strut bars- **** yeah! drive the **** out dat hoe!

4. whiteline/suspension techniques/cusco adj. sway bars-more driving (damn, I thought I could drive, what's goin' on?)

5. driving lessons (driver's edge or something like that)

6. ****, I have no more brakes! 300zx fronts/brembo, project u or kvr rotors/ endless pads -- rear brembo rotors w/ endless pads

7. damn I'm badass! but I keep sliding around n' ****! sparco torino w/ takata harness

8. can't learn anymore on this open diff/stock diff, but I love roadracing- Kaaz 1.5 way lsd

9. I can drive, but I want my car to be pimp, w/o getting jacked! greddy front lip spoiler, kouki sideskirts, bomex eyebrow (I wouldn't do that, but beats spending 2k on a conversion- my 95's are growin' on me)

10. ok, I can drive, my car's pimp, and I'm ready for more power baby, **** yeah! --sr20det, apexi N1, konig typhoons in 17x8.5

this is just what I'd do.

$15K? And you have a 170K mile 240?

Give the 240 to someone, 'cuz it's worth $500.

Take the $15K and buy a 2-year-old SE-R or Maxima...

shiz 15k isnt a lot??? u must be smoking crack or ur just a lucky bastard that has rich parents. I freakin spend four years trying to save up 15k to get a car and do something to it...i would first get suspension then do engine... if you have money left over u can work on the looks

hmm, that is a lot of miles, although I've heard of the ka lasting into the 200's. Maybe you should have your **** looked at first, and make sure that it's even worth getting into. If it's on it's last legs, and you really want to keep the car, maybe you should think about a new motor earlier. For now, maybe you should try this out.

well.. 170k miles really isnt that much if i get the tire thingies replaced.... something the springs or shocks or something in the tires, that makes it just fine, thers no rust or anything on it, and im giong to get it painted again....

but the engine is dying.. so i am going to put an rb25 in it i think.... but see all that stuff you said... i dont know what any of that **** is and i have no idea where to learn it but im going to buy it.. take it to a shop somewhere and tell them to put it on =o

japanese cars will drive into the 300-350k mile range if you keep it oiled and be nice to it =D.. however im not nice to mine.......

i paid 2500 for it.... the previous owner paid 4000 for it bluebook says its worth about 4200 i think it said.. should i try to get an s13? ive considered that as well... or i could just get a 350z =D but i dont think they are that pretty

stop saying thingy, and then do alot of research $15k is alot of money. i agree with hitman, although i loved my 240 a maxima would wipe the floor with me. you should sell me your 240 for $35 bucks and buy yourself a newer car.

If I were you, hold it in the bank and learn about cars. You don't seem too inclined about a s14. When refering to the Rb series engines as "thingy". No offense. Just read the forums and come to some concusion what you want to acomplish with the car.

Dude - I don't know what "blue book" you're looking at, but your car ain't worth $4200.

You'd be lucky to get $1000 for it.

And even if you do a swap, it's still a tired-arse car. And let's say you put a built SR20 in it, if it's totalled in an accident, the insurance company is gonna give you $1000 and tell you to get lost.

I hope you know more about money management than you do about cars. :rolleyes

Which car would this be? J30 and Q45 are only RWD sedans availabe for under 15k, M45 is brand new.... There is the M30. But that it worth only little more than a S13 240sx.

1st gen Q45 = low entry price (4-10k), some money to be sepnt getting it up to factory specs (2-8k) 1500-2500 a year to maintain. Its pretty fast. Too "Grandpa," if you will.

J30 = Same Deal. Perhaps a little less. I don't think It looks too good.

Greg, the 95 240sx is worth at least 2500-5500 today. I haven't seen Shaddix's car, So i don't know the condition... We will have to see what Ben gets for his totaled car. It is a 95 with 122k

well i agree with one of the members here by saying, put the money in the bank, learn waht u can about cars in general, and then after you KNOW important steps in building a car, then sell your s14, and get another, newer one with less miles, learn before u dive into stuff with 15k

With 170K (and probably an ARSE-load of things wrong with it), it's not even close to low blue book of $2500 (if that's where you got your numbers). That's OVER 21k miles per year, well over the 12-15K allowable average. There's a FAT deduction in value for the miles.

p.s. And you were right in your response to ZERO-S. There's no RWD Infiniti based on the Max. It's the I-35, and it's the ONLY FWD car in Infiniti's lineup.
