15k$ to use on my S14.. what do i do?

shaddix, start out small man.. get a feel for your car.. get some sway bars and stuff, put the money in the bank and let it make u some more money while u put everything together.. u could just call up a shop and be like "put this motor in" but mostlikely u will get ripped off and u wont know much about your car.. the thing is, when u swap to a JDM engine, most shops wont beable to fix it and get parts.. so your gonna need to learn some things.. as far as an RB, at this time its hard to get parts, so your best bet is probily an SR (for now) read up and once u know some things then loook around for an engine.. get the SR swaped in, and tinker with your car (get strut bars and lower the car and such) and get some good looking rims that are wide, the last thing u need is to be fish-tailing it into a ditch when its raining and killing yourself.. learn how to FIX your car as it is now (with the KA in it) dont be afrade to take stuff apart (little stuff) and get the general feel for working on a car, hell a year ago i didnt work on cars barly any.. now i can fix like 70% of the stuff on my car, myself.. so learn all u can and then get the swap and fix the car up.. go out and find a good car club around your area talk to the people and maby some can help u out..

I know people who make $15k in one MONTH. They all work their A$$ off for it and they would never say it comes easy. I work hard to earn my money so I guess I take it a bit more personally.

If he has $15k great! But if he's gonna talk like it's no big deal he'll get flamed b/c $15k is a lot of money for a lot of people here

euh im gonna get another car now a 97 one with fewer miles for cheap =D yeh i dont know anything about cars at all =o however i have a great intrest in them, i just havent found the right resources yet..( i am reading that 240 faq thread or whatever that is.. where all those members post resources to keep stupid questionts off the forums)

i read everything on howstuffworks.com so i know liike... cars basic basic basic basic stuff but thats all =\ id ont know any specific things or hardly anything...

but i work in IT, and i enjoy it, which is why i feel that it isnt difficult to get money, seeing as how all i do is play on computers and get paid for it =d, i dont make a lot.. but i dont have to spend it, i have zero respect for my parents and ill suck everything out of them they will give me, which right now, they are paying for me to live in my girlfriends house =d so i dont have any expenses except for gas =p lucky me

i do have a dire intrest in my 240, which is why i watch them do the work every time i take it to she shop

and as to the mileage thing, yeah its a lot of miles, but im not going to have this car for very long, ill put maybe.. 30 or 40 thousand more miles on it, then its gone.. ill have something else, (another 240) or an s15 =d

but i wont be keeping the car for long now, and as to the bluebook thing http://www.kbb.com 95 240sx se, put 150k miles on it (thats how much it had when i bought it) it will come up with 4000 something .. well less now seeing as how i bought the car several months ago.

oh yeah =D and i only said thingy because i didnt want to sound like i a dumbass, even though thats what it accomplished,

but see... i dont want to try to sound like i know something that i have no idea what im talking about... so i make myself out to have no knowlege whatsoever, which to someone with lots of experience and knowledge with 240s would think anyway....

i used to be good at tekken, and everyone sucked, even if someone told me they were good, i knew they sucked, they didnt have a clue how to do anything, they just read some crap and decided they knew what it was..

sure, i started out that way too, but now that i know its like that with everything, i dont wanna sound like i think i know some **** about cars when i really dont (ricer)

and 15k isnt alot for me *right now* i worked 3 years for 6/hour and made 15k =< then 15k was alot yeah, but right now.. no it doesnt seem like a lot to me, because i have absolutely nothing to do with it but spend it =D

i stopped playing tekken months ago =p .. at my peak i was able to effectively wave dash and actually use it.. but then i imported tk4 and it all went downhill =<

oooh another question =D what if i just want a fast car... thas all i care about, i dont give a **** how it looks or anything... like an s13 with a ****load of rust... and all i want is for it to be fast =D dont care about anything else .. not saying i wanna do this.. well i do but not like im going to throw away what im going to be doing anyway =D but i want something reallyr eally cheap that can do like 11 second something.. whatever that thing is people talk about the 1/4 thing ;_;

you should get a honda crx and put a better engine in it. Sorry I have no knowledge whatsoever about honda engines so i cant tell you what engine to put. Then may be turbo it. Trust me, if you want a drag car(fast going straight), forget the S14 or S13 and get a little civic. Its doesnt take that much to turn a crx into a 10 or 11 sec car. But if u want a track car (good handling and stuff) then 240s are great cars. thats just my opinion

sure...for 15k you can buy some jdm badges, an expensive detail job, a faster engine....but always know that nothing competes with that scent of a new interior and eye catching glaze from factory new paint job.

Dude, You guys are being DikHeads. Some of you are keeping chill. I know this is hard to swallow- this kid comes outta nowhere with all this money you wish you had. But he wants help so he doesnt become a REAL idiot. Like all those poele RICEing out their S14s. So Shaddix, Go find a nice trustable JDM shop. Prefferably one that does alot with 240s and SR20s, get a nice S13 SR swapped into your car, get new springs, new KYB AGX shocks, get some sway bars, Cusco Front and rear Strut tower bars, get all the suspension old arse rubber bushings replaced with polyurethane(Suspension Techniques is the company). just start with that, youll have money left over, and youll need time to get used to your *NEW* car.

if you've got $15k and a steady job, sell that 240sx and put a nice down payment on a new 350z, G35, STi, or Lancer Evolution. I would not put $15k into my 240sx, despite my love for my car, there are better ones out there if you have that much money.

If you are going to flame someone do it right the rb and the sr are not motors. A "MOTOR" is the "thingy" that cranks the rb and sr. The rb and the sr are "ENGINES"
