$150,000 for Sarah Palins wardrobe.

I find it funny that Sarah Palin is now speaking about her wardrobe. She claims her weeding ring was paid for with her own money and it only cost $35, plus she wears consignment clothing. What? She would have been better off by keeping that info to herself. Again... This stuff really doesn’t matter, but it sure is fun to laugh at. I wish the McPalin team the best, but somewhere deep down they have to realize that its a lost cause.

The campaign bought a selection of clothing for Sarah Palin, a third of which will be returned, the rest to be donated to charity when she's finished wearing them. Sarah Palin had nothing to do with it. Sarah Palin was not there. Sarah Palin did not take part in it. She's just going to wear them, once or twice.

Check the facts, unlike the professional journalists who reported it.

I still wish the left hadn't tried to make this into news.

It's NOT news, it's stupid, it's irrelevant, and there are more important things to focus on.

See, I can call out my own party when they act ridiculous.

I think it's funny that you even commit such trivialities to memory.

First it's an issue of spending too much, then it's an issue of spending too little.

I have a better idea - Figure out why you feel the need to be judgmental about things that don't affect you.

Why would he waste his time doing that, they weren't very smart posts to begin with in that they show a lack of understanding and baseless, stupid attacks that people like Keith Olbermann come up with.

I didn't "cut and chop" a thing. I'd have quoted the entire post, but I selected the part that was relevant.

Sorry if you feel that my pointing out your glaring inconsistencies makes me "self-righteous".

My critique of your statements has nothing to do with politics, so your "right-winger" call is way off base.

I think I pointed out above - I don't give a DAMN what some woman spends on clothes. It's stupid crap like this (as Hash pointed out) that exposes the childishness and ignorance of some trying to influence the political landscape.

I'll start being nicer if you start being smarter.

Ah, how convenient! Yes, let's ignore anything that happened a while back as if it never occurred...

Who holds up the rug and who does the sweeping?

Remember, the Obama campaign has not identified donors for nearly half the amount he has raised, according to the Center for Responsive Politics (CRP).

Ignore THAT, while you blubber over $150K in upscale womens' clothing (none of which cost YOU a thin dime).

I never heard the part about "half", but it makes sense that donors are unidentifiable for a large part of his funds.

You're not required to state a donor name for a contribution under a certain amount, maybe it's $25, I'm not sure. Obama has orchestrated an unprecedented small-amount donation movement, with everyone from college students to fixed-income seniors giving $5, $10, or $20. These people aren't typical political donors, but together they have managed to raise a truly staggering sum.

This is in contrast to the McCain/Palin campaign, which seems to have a "minimum" donation amount (at least as per their online ads, which is all I've examined) of $50, likely because it isn't really targeted towards as many young people.

It's not some nefarious plot, it's just that they've enlisted tons of new donors, many of which have only given a few bucks each. They're not required to track these people.

Oh, Hashie...

"Federal law does not require the campaigns to identify donors who give less than $200 during the election cycle. However, it does require that campaigns calculate running totals for each donor and report them once they go beyond the $200 mark."
HashiriyaS14 wrote:It's not some nefarious plot, it's just that they've enlisted tons of new donors, many of which have only given a few bucks each. They're not required to track these people.
Hmmmm.

That's why many of them are done with disposable "gift cards" OR utilizing the names of fictional characters?

The FEC breakdown of the Obama campaign has identified a staggering $222.7 million as coming from contributions of $200 or less. Only $39.6 million of that amount comes from donors the Obama campaign has identified.....

A million Democrats actually AWARE of the $200 threshold?

Suuuuuure.

I'm not certain that I follow this.

Why would someone have to be aware of the threshold for them to give less than $200?

You're going to have millions of college kids throwing in like $20 each or whatever, along with plenty of other people who are more likely to click the button online when it says "Give $5" as opposed to "Give $50"

Furthermore, a lot of this is probably just CASH. I've worked a few Dem events this year and I can tell you that we just keep a big jar there for people to throw cash into. If they're putting in less than $200, we don't raise an eyebrow.

Sure, they might have already hit their $2400 limit and be breaking the rules, but seriously, what are the odds, and how are we or anyone else going to cross-reference that in the field?

We've come away from some of these events with like $15k in CASH, totally untraceable cash, deposited by a few thousand people who walk up to our booth. Little kids will run up with a five-spot and take a bumper sticker or whatever, it's just mayhem.

I mean, do you seriously think that there's some nefarious plot at work here? That some mideast investor or terrorlst is orchestrating a massive wealth transfer to the Obama campaign vis-a-vis millions of tiny donation amounts?

That's pretty off the f**king wall, friend.

EDIT: Now go respond to my States' Rights thread

That's what you and people like you fail to get and why Obama is your messiah. It will always matter! Your associations matter and there is no time period when it is "ok". I don't let errs in judgement "go", they hang around your neck like an albatross. Libs are the ones with the convenient memories and floating indignation. I don't find them funny, I never will. McCain was behind the curve in bringing it up to his detriment. If anything McCain sounds like me.

You are truly retarded if you think a person's past actions do not define who he is at the present. You care more about a trivial $150k in clothes when that amount is almost insignificant. I find it funny how low of an IQ you must really have. Anyone with half a brain would realize $150k for clothes in a presidential campaign would be like me going to buy $50 dollar shoes. It's slightly more than I'm used to, but I'd buy 3 or 4 pairs just for the hell of it. Get your numbers straight, $150k is not a lot of money, in fact, it's so little you sound like an elementary school kid who has yet to grasp the concept of money just for bringing this up.

This explains why you support Obama. Instead of looking at what he has done in the past to determine what he will do in the future, you take his words face value and automatically assume his true feelings represent what he spouts of in his campaign.

Please fail at life more.

given my location I don't sway too much in either direction but I can say that Obama clearly has more experience than Palin and if for any reason McCain couldn't complete his duties your country would be run by a soccer mom that can't explain what side she stood for on a $400 million bridge to nowhere.

I guess what I'm saying is there is inexperience on both sides of the table, There is going to be a learning experience for whomever gets elected, even McCain.

Nope.

I don't come in our house and poop on the floor, I'll expect you to have the same consideration.

Really, you've made it pretty long in here without getting tossed - Remember, it's a place for "well thought-out" viewpoints.

I'm sure you'll do fine if you take your own advice and put some real thought into your posts.

Here, I'll even point you in the right direction - I find Hashirya to be a great example to follow.
