15,000 Service

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Sorry, if this has been discussed before. I had been dreading the day I'd need more than an oil change. They quoted me $315 just for the 15K service. I remember this was the price of a 60K service on my toyota. Anyway, I was told they'd do inspections, tire rotation, oil change, air filter, cabin air filter and replace wiper-blades for this.

I told them just to do the oil change and tire rotation and I'd replace the air filters myself (this was going to cost $60).

My question is, what can you get away with NOT doing for these high cost interval services (15K, 30K, 60K), bearing in mind that I can't do a lot of DIY other than replacing air filters? At some point will I have to do let's say the 60K and just fork over the dough?

There is another similar thread today below - but here are my thoughts...

Yes - replace air filters yourself. Same with wipers...if you need them. Discount tire rotates tires for free here.
Eventually, yes - you will want the other fluids either drained/filled or flushed...but not until later on down the road... (depending on your driving conditions/habits). I highly doubt you need them done at 15K (other than oil)
