because i dont know how to really tune and i dont have a dyno to go on alot. plus i can handle simple wiring but a stand alone might be a lil out of my leauge(sp?). by simple wiring i mean gauges and cd player

JWT isn't that bad. I have to say it is grossly over-priced (considering the hacked MAF grossly outperforms it with 370cc injectors), and the timing maps are too conservative for low boost. But guys running 12-18psi seem to be getting pretty damn good numbers. Can't get any easier either.

I third that! I dunno what the highest will be though...whenever the IC stops being efficient I'll stop turning up the boost. I like the JWT ECU because it's conservatively tuned and I wont be worrying about blowing the engine up because it's running lean etc. Even Orion has said he thinks the hacked maf is running on the verge of lean at 4000rpms...it can probably be corrected for but with the JWT ECU I also get timing maps adjusted for turbo. It's also cheaper if you get it from heavy throttle or JGY customs. Try only 500 from either one.

lol, you're welcome, but i don't think i'm taking sides. JWT has upsides and downsides. If it was just a little cheaper i'd say it would be the hands down best option.

IMO, he shouldn't run race gas, he should run alcohol/water injection, no need to run race gas, since he's probably not running tha tboost all the time (unless this car isn't run very often on teh street, even then, no need to run full boost all the time)

yea i didnt really think about that. with WD Racing not posting for a while i forgot about alcohol injection. that SMC kit i think it is will be very useful

Structure, I didnt know how to tune, and I didnt think I would be able to wire up a stand alone, but I did it, and I tuned the car myself. It just takes faith, in other words, jump in over your head and paddle like hell :)

Aries...what do i say about his setup? I have no idea what the hell he did that for. Around here where I live, we currently have a huge debate goign on between car clubs. Here, its alot of unspoken animosity between domestics and imports. What we talk about is what do you consider a street car? Its full of opinions...but the one that seems to have the most response is...you dont have to be at the track to perform well. So i say this about areis's car. You take a refined chassis like the 240"s with so much potential, and turn it inot a pig with a 350 under the hood. Granted, I bet its fast as hell...but really pointless. Just go buy a camaro and be done with it. Also...maybe at the track he runs great times because he can hook with slicks--but head out on the highway, and I bet he gets STOMPED. It just seems like you buy an import to be an import enthusiast. So why put the most redneck owned motor in the world in it? Thats like a buying a mustang and putting a dodge motor in it.I just dont get it. On the page where he did a write up on the install--he said he just wanted more power...so why didnt he build the motor and turbo...or go rb25? ummmm, cuz he wanted a torquey 1/4 mile car i guess.

a 350 in a 240?

I just dont get it.

the 350 is a good engine...now drop the subject, this has been discussed so many times it's ridiculous.

If you don't mind me asking, how much did you end up paying for your Link EMS? What kind of WB02 are you running as well? Thanks.

I think that when it was all said and done, I paid like a little over $1k, with the ECU, Igniter, and Wiring harness, as well as the laptop.

ThanksRick

It wasnt very hard, It took me 2 days to get it all working and stuff, but the wiring looked like crap so now I am re-doing all of it to make it look purty.

So did you end up getting the T04X2?? I've been looking at the T04X and also the T3/60-1 .70 A/R compressor and .63 A/R Turbine. What do you think of the two?
