That car has changed hands several times. The radiator is (I believe) a custom unit from Fluidyne.

Someone email the buyer - He needs to be a NICO member!!

I'd get a more subtle cowl hood (love 'em) and repair the gaping hole in the bumper... Otherwise, it's not terrible.

I think the car is very interesting and complete.I like some of the edgier mods. And while purists will decry the swap from the VH45DE, it seems clear that this set-up is a lot faster.

More power to him.

lol i actually put the final bet on the 11-second Q. now i'm tryin to get the money together. I already have a '91 Q45a fixed but with everything but no rims yet, i'm waiting to get my 20" Alba Bertha's on there soon. I already have a system in it, 2-12" JL Audio W3 and a 500/1 JL amp with a Kenwood CD player, gives out 50X4 which is not bad for a system, but it still sets off alarms and shakes windows. oh well, i love it, but now i need to focus on getting the 15 Gz sqaured away for the big beast. wish me luck.

Rony - As someone who has admired (and wondered) about that car for the past 2 years, let me be the first to welcome you to NICO.

I'd say you'll now have the title of "Most Modded Q", a title previously held by our Senior Admin Fred (palmerwmd). You're in good company here, and anything you need to know about maintaining/repairing your Q's (well, except for the new Q's engine) you can find here.

Welcome - hope to see you around a lot more.

its funny how a carburetedchevy V8 can bring in more money than a highly engineered Nissan V8 that the car came with. Good answer to a possible timing chain blowout though.

True, its kinda hard to fit all that in there, and i'm impressed with whoever did it. but if u alredy have a V8, highly engineered engine, why not upgrade to higher power while u can?...and for AZithman, thank u for ur welcome, its my first day registered here, and i like it, very informative info about my Q. but i do have one Q tho. i have a company that's willing to sponser me with modifying my first Q. but the thing is, i dont know what i CAN modify in it, besides the exhaust and intake. Please give me some hints.

Thnx

Rony - My best advice to you is to go to the Infiniti online mechanic forum, fix yourself a few sandwiches and a large beverage, prop your feet up and read.

You'll find that the best mods to the 1st gen Q's is impeccable maintenance, as they're already over-engineered to begin with. Some gains with JWT chip and 4.08 rear end are possible, but there's not much "hidden hp" lurking in there. Suspension mods are more productive, although since you have the "a" model, there's not much to do there either. Start with good tires (245/50/16 is a good choice), light rims and new control arms/bushings, etc.

Glad you're gonna be around a while.

Azithman, Thanx for the advice bro, so i really dont need to do much, but just minor exterior modifications. i already have the windows limo tint, pitch black. and just working on the rims for now, but from what i've seen, its very powerful and quick. now, i cant wait to drive my new one....

Yes, less than jake john....i was talkin about the non-modified one. the new one, i have nothin to do in it. its already done and ready to hit the gas and see it fly. i just hope it runs as good as the owner tells me.

Be sure to post some more pics of the "hybrid(?)" Q when it arrives. What should we call that thing? Frankenstein?

You'll get along REAL well with Aries (one of our moderators). He has an LT-1 powered Nissan 240sx.

As for the 91 "a", maintenance is key. Have you (or a previous owner) done the chain guides? Does the active suspension work well? Have you cleaned the intake? Injectors clean? transmission cooler? Flushed all fluids? Etc, etc, etc.

These are just the tip of the iceberg - Enjoy!

Sorry to sound soo uninformed, but i'm a bit clueless when it comes to infiniti's, with my First Q...it was the first infiniti i ever bought, and i'll tell u this, i'm never buying a diff car again besides infiniti's, unless it was a Benz S500 lol....but int he meantime, my Q is da bomb....even my license plate is Q4U2ENV <~~~ cool huh....lol well i'm actually replaced the engine in my first Q, cuz the old owner treated it like a piece of crap, never changed spark plugs, never done anything, so i replaced the engine with a 93 Q45 engine with 67,000 miles. did all the works, timing adjustment, full total tune up, and the "a" suspension is working beautifully. no problems as of yet. Oil changes every 3K miles and transmission fluid change every 6 months. i dont know what else to do....

-rear diff fluid with MOBIL1 GL-5 (or redline or AMSOIL)- complete brake system bleed and replace with valvoline SynPower DOT3/4 brakefluid (the best off-the-shelf fluyid I know of)-power steering flush and replace with MOBIL 1ATF ( yes ATF not powersteering fluid)- cooling system complete chemical flush, then flush with water, then refill with 70% distilled water, 1 bottle redline wetter water, rest anitfreeze,-->eithr Nissan green, Toyota red or GM orange dexcool (best)

Which plugs are in it?

Only the OEm plugs work well with this car (NGK Platinum were purpose designed for early Q45)Some informed peopel also feel the denso platinums are the equivalent to the NGk's in this application but anything less will cost you power, smoothness + mpg.

Also haved you ox sensors and knock sensors checked, sometimes extra power is hiding is worn sensors like that (=replacement = more power)

Were the chain guides replaced? Couldn't tell from the commentary.

Welcome to the Board, and good luck with the Chevrolet V8.__________________Brian1995 Q45 & Q45t
