$100 6ltr long block sound pretty good?

V8 240sx? Sure! If either the chassis OR the engine is non-Nissan (i.e. SR20 in an RX-7 or LS1 in a 240sx), we've done it.

I don't want to lock this guys c-mon. Of all the forums we have on Nico, this has been where the adults can come and discuss things in a clear and well thought out manner.

Everyone should know by this point that things said on a forum are far from fact in some cases. This may be one of those...

I think you 2 are actually arguing seperate things here...because I can't seem to track where either of you are talking about the same damn motor.

Isn't this about the KA's transmission and running a carb?

Edit: Just talked to a company in ohio and i can have a custom clutch disk made with the 300zx hub and a lsx disk. I was having a prob with the two disks being that the 300 is 24 spline and 1" input shaft. And the lsx is 26 spline with a 1 1/8" input shaft. And the flywheel bolts patterns of the two were totally off. One 6 bolt and the other 8 bolt. I was basically down to having a custom flywheel made and i didnt want that.

But with the price of the custom clutch kit, flywheel, and transmission i will be in the 350.00$ range. I got a u pull it junkyard around my way that has trannys for 65.00 with a 30 day warranty. And with the holding power of the 300zx transmission i should be good.

Pilot bearing may be a issue but i am sure that can be worked around to.

I also work at a GM dealership and can attest to the 6.0 taking alot of abuse and keeping on ticking, but the difference in weight you would've been better off the buy an LS1. I had the T5 in my Rustang and its a peice of trash.

Na not right now just saving some money's right now for all this but the guy i spoke with said i could have this done anytime. Still got to rebuild the motor right now. And i am in a toss up with going n/a with carb or building a custom manifold and supercharging with fuel injection. ?????????

could probably build a fuel injection set up for not too bad a price, especially if your making the manifold and stuff yourself, going to cost me about 1k to do the conversion on my 305(about 300 for a used tpi setup, 300 for megasquirt and 400 for new injectors)

Alright, I aint very far off from starting my build and i am needing a few parts. Was wondering if anyone had any coils with harness they wanted to get off of? Been looking around ebay for some used one's but really aint much there. Was hoping to get all 8 with harness and brackets and all i can find is seperate coils and such. Any help would be appreciated!!!!

I'll vouch for the T5 being worthless to anything but a bone stock 302 mustang or V6 '80s camaro. As was stated, the case is weak and it flexes which allows the gears to push away from each other and break the teeth. Straight cut gears helps a bunch but the cost of upgrading the T5 with them is more than just buying a new TKO500/600. With the LSx engine, I think the T56 is the way to go as it will bolt right up and not cause headaches.

Well i have been thinking on what carb to use. I am tore in between using a edelbrock 750 manual choke and secondaries or a holley 600(better on gas) electric choke and vacuum secondaries. Also the holley is a double pumper so i am thinking it can keep up with the motor built back to basically stock. I got a discount on either carb so they are going to cost right about 200.00 either way i go. What ya'll think?????????????

i would go with the 750 personally the 600 is a little small for my 305 even and your a full litre bigger you can always change the jets to tune for your engine but theres not a whole lot you can do the increase the airflow of course it depends on the cam and stuff too holley has a nice tool on there website that asks alot of questions about what the engine is going into and what the use will be so it gives you the perfect size you need. once i get the new cam in and get the heads back from the shop im putting a 680 street avenger on my 305

ok i take that back checking holleys website a stock engine will be ok for a 600cfm carb but any mods and you will need something bigger(or can get the bigger one to boost power slightly by itself and also plan for future upgrades) it says only to use mechanical secondarys if the car is 3100lbs with you in it and a full tank of gas and when using less agressive gear ratios(both not just one or the other) *shrug* kinda though but i would see if you could get a third option

I pretty much already know the answer to this question but i am going to ask anyway. On the c5 corvette manifolds they have ports for the air pump to pump fresh air into the exhaust for emissions. Was wondering if anybody thinks the port would give enough flow for a wastgate? Cause it is just perfect if you swapped sides of the manifolds and piped out front for a twin turbo setup.

Then from there you could drop down with the dump tube to meet the (downpipe) as it makes it's way to the rear of the car. I know the usual place for a wastegate is at the collector but i was just wondering.???

Thanks
