Hey everyone Im new to this forum but not to the 240. My brother bought one in highschool about 4 years ago then sold it and went in to the millitary and after boot camp bought another. So while he was in iraq I did the sr swap and it was running great a few things here and there to repair but all in all a good motor. Now it has a little problem that I can't find exact info on. When the car is in idle it sounds anf runs great, no hesitation under acceleration. When I put it in gear and drive normal ,not needing boost, it is all good. Now the good stuff, when I try to take off it jumps a couple of times and then at about 3000-3500 rpm it goes great. this happens in all the gears unless I shift and the rpm is high enough on the switch. I was checking my TPS and when I unplugged it and ran the car in idle it did the same symptoms when revving the engine. any help would be great and if anyone knows how to test the TPS or information on that it would be great thanks.

you have an auto TPS converted to work on your car from the sounds of it.

I would double check your timing. It could explain your misses on low rpm loads.

I don'thave much experience with dealing with auto TPSes, so I won't be much help in diagnosing if that's your problem.

Run the ECU for codes. Is the ECU for an auto SR?

So I finally found the archives and read 20 different post and it looks like my motor had a automatic transmission and they swaped it with a manual. So the ecu is for an automatic, can I still put a manual TPS on that ECU. Or can I get something to check the 6 wire TPS. I did check the timming and it was at 15 degrees, but I don't know if it has changed since I've been trying to figure this out.
