i pulled that transmission out before i ate yesterday. i have one with 61,000 miles going in, ive been preparing for this for six months

i blew a spring out of the clutch hub, and that was keeping the clutch was disengaging, aka clutchless shifiting. i'm pissed the clutch blew up before the transmission did though, its had blown synchros for two years now, maybe more

so upon the advice of a thread on here i bought an XTD stage 3 off of ebay yesterday. 161.00 shipped, not too shabby, i'm not excited about changing it in 15k miles, but i know i'll blow something else up before then

for the clutch? or transmission pulling, cuz i definately did that the wrong way.

the wrong way to pull a transmission:

step onepull motor

step twounbolt driveshaft in the middle (does nothing helpful at this point)

step threeunbolt and disconnect everything else and support, remove broken exhaust hanger. this is the step you cut yourself on the heatshield really bad, but you dont notice until you find drops of blood ALL over the garage floor

step fourpull transmission forward off the driveshaft and all the way into the engine bay

step fivechuckle like a D-Bag as you notice the hilerity of having your transmission in the engine bay (stupid fwd cars)

step sixstand on your antiroll bar and try to pick the transmission up without falling off your greasy, greasy stabilizer

step sevenhurt your back as you muscle the transmission up and out of the engine bay, then clean up all the transmission fluid you spilled everywhere.

step eighteat turkey, get drunk, pass out on fouton, have back pain

see, bam, the wrong way to pull a transmission. although i know you meant clutch

no, you shouldnt pull the motor to do it, and you should get the car as high up in the air as you can. you only need a 14mm and i think a 17mm. the ***** is disconnecting the transmission sensors, and just disconnect the speed sensor at the harness

i had a jack on the front of the transmission and a jackstand on the rear of the transmission, then i would put it on the ground and pull it out from under the car. oh and drain the transmission first. pulling the driveshaft out of the transmission is really hard if you have the motor in the car. but unless youre like me and you need to pull the motor, i wouldnt, although the transmission bolts are a ***** to get to without pulling upper intake manifold off

my 93 se coupe manual limits me at about 7200 and still pulls hard all the way up there, maybe the stage 3 clutch and fidanza flywheel help out just my 2 cents
