the Megan set up (mid pipes & axle backs) were put on first -- along with a used Megan Y pipe. Once my XYZ pipe was available, I swapped out the Megan y pipe, still a good piece, but I liked the xyz better due to the different set up possibilities. The axle back and mids I picked up for a little under than the going market price -- the shop I went thru is right around the corner from Megan Racing Headquarters and since I didn't have to pay for shipping it was a steal. I went over to Megan and helped pick up the set. The XYZ pipe from Motordyne was pricey...in the $400 range...but I did plenty of research on it and felt it was justified...I can't complain...to give you an idea, at high speeds, I definately feel the difference with the flow after having the xyz pipe and megan set up...to open up the car on the fwy and to feel it pull hard and up into the high end band is a good feeling...plus having the Uprev tune really puts everything into place. after all my mods, I got retuned and got my air/fuel (AFR) in a good place so I avoid ever running lean or too rich.
What about High Flow Cats?? Your set up looks great!!

Do you think the Megan set up of axle back ($355+) is a fair or more than fair set up?? Or Full Megan Racing $650+ a BIG difference?? Not looking to go all out!! Just better flow to go with my intake I just ordered!! :bigthumb:

^^ no HFC's yet...I know it'll add more to my set up...just being picky right now.

I would suggest you get the axle backs "for now"...see how you feel with that along with the intake...it'll still give you better flow. our engines will adapt to the mods you are adding (being you're not going all out, then I believe you won't have issues with air/fuel mixture)...save up for the Uprev and you will be a very happy camper. the M45's have power already, but when tuned correctly, you'll be impressed even more.

but he has an M45, y-pipe will need work in order for it to fit.

I would tell you to get both, the mid-pipe is a must have. The oem mid-pipe is a joke (small).

You'll save money by getting both at the same time.

I may be able to get it for you a little less, don't buy yet. Give me a chance to see if I can find the number for you.

I have helped a few other M owners on getting the exhaust cheaper.

today I had my exhaust guy install the stock G35 Y pipe on my car...fits perfectly. no modifications needed. Just plug and play. the sound is good along with my Megan mids and axle backs. I will need to drive it around to get a good feel for the car. I know that I will gain more low end torque with the stock G35 Ypipe vs the MD xyz pipe. The xyz pipe is really for upper end power/flow and the low end suffers a little. :gotme I'll keep ya'll posted.

Yo Bodyguard, please take pix when you get the Megan...

I will be searching for the best price shipped on monday and maybe tuesday.... Gotta make sure I'm ordering something they have in stock also!! Heard too many stories already about sellers selling without having them on their shelves.... That would definately suck!! I will be posting pics later on the month when I get the roof spoiler, intake and hopefully exhaust all on.... Got them in transit already except for the exhaust....:bigthumb:

These look real clean!! Fitment has to be custom though right?? Although it describes them as being specially for imports....these are universal mufflers right?? Or am I wrong? Really like the quad 3.5" tips vs megans 2.5" :gotme but I like the fact the megan exhaust is made specially for the M!! What are the details....

Freddie, I called the guy about the megan racing exhaust but he wants to know the first and last name of the guy who got it for $610 to Queens. He said if he find an invoice to back that up, he will give me that price! Otherwise it's gonna be $700! LMK if you can find out the guys name....

Thanks!

yeah its universal so some custom work has to be done to put them on but i dont think its going to be that much of a difference for labor. at first i was thinking of getting the megan but to me the sound difference isnt that great comparing to stock plus the tips look very plain ( thin , smalll etc.) magnaflow delivers that deeper rumble :)

Those look good and I think somone has bought that style for their M before. I think it would look better if there wasn't a gap between the tips but that's just me.

Going with the megan Axle back exhaust for now, mid-pipes later... Got some hook ups with some of the guys here but after all the research found just the axle back at a price I couldnt walK away from!! $228 free shipping at WWW.KDPARTS.COM. Ebay has mid pipes for $300+$20 shipping. So $228+$320 =$548 :dblthumb: Most interested in axle back at this time but the package deal the guys found me was really good ($600) then this came along for what I wanted all along ($228) so a no brainer IMO :gotme

I hope you get it for that price because most of the other items on the site are over priced.

ask Milt just for the price on the mid-pipe just to see what he can do. He has to be cheaper than eBay.
