Perhaps YOU should leave the 4x4 talk to people who know what they are talking about, jackass.

Now, I see how your tiny pin-head brain got confused, because duur, CJs look like Wranglers so duur they must be Wranglers, but they are not. Production of the Wrangler started in 87 with the YJ, the square-headlighted bastard. That also nips the semi-problematic statement with the 4.2L YJ.

Hey charlieo toggle my switches paper-bag.I'm more than well aware that cj's aren't wrangler honeystick. They are the predecessor to the wrangler and yes your right the wrangler started in 87 BASED OFF THE CJ DESIGN MEGATRON.The 4.2l was used from 71-90 that's a little bit longer of a production run than the 4.0 has had.Have you ever built a 4 wheeler? No so shut the duck in the wire trap and go put out a fire.Like i said 5 rigs that will easily do 75 down the highway, wheel hard technical trails that would make you squat in your pants, and then drive home to be DD to work the next day.I don't buy rocks either,i fabricate it all.GOD BLESS AMERICA YOU ARE A GIANT PAPER-BAG,I'M SURPRISED NO ONE HAS KILLED YOU WITH MY AWESOME JOKES YET.

oh and one more thing to point out how stupid everyone is as a child, since the cj frame wasn't boxed and the leafsprings/axles would rip out from under the frame in an accident jeep boxed the yj frame and added trackbars to help with the problem(not necessary though).the yj is the original wrangler if you wanna get technical.

"IT'S SO FLUFFY!"

edited by Dano, OMM just let his anger get the best of him, he's bigger than that though, and will refrain from outburts like this hopefully.

I had a good friend in college that had an late 60's/early 70's CJ5. Real jeep. No plastic, a metal dash (to which he mounted a beer bottle opener) :dblthumb: The only other improvement he did to it was a nice rollbar. Didn;t need anything. It was like a tank. No a/c, no plastic, manual transmission, removeable doors, fold down windshield, dreadful stiff ride, and slow, but it didn't matter. It was a hoot. the new ones just don't impress me.

Hello! Aren't you pleasant! I said, and I quote:
charlieo wrote: I think Wranglers with square lights and no 4.0L aren't real Jeeps.
You then fired back with (and I put it in bold because you're, well, slow...):
Oatmealman wrote:uh i disagree, the cj was one of the original wranglers
To which I remarked (again with the bold, I understand your handicap and am here to help):
charlieo wrote: CJs look like Wranglers so duur they must be Wranglers, but they are not.
You then commented:
Oatmealman wrote:I'm more than well aware that cj's aren't wrangler honeystick.
So, why, when I said Wranglers, did you prattle on about 4.2L CJs? Are you suffering from memory loss or early-onset senility? That is sad. Have you sought medical attention? I would. I'm no doctor, though so please don't construe this as medical advice and then get all upset on me.

Protip: You'd probably get taken more seriously if you didn't type like an extra from Idiocracy.

I miss my Jeep.......untill I think about the fuel economy and rough ride over any surface. Then I miss it less.

My friend has a newer jeep. Everything in the car is broken and it doesn't have that high of miles. I don't know much about old jeeps but the 90+ models seem like garbage.

yup pretty much any jeep after the yj series is absolute junk.

as far as the fj40's go the axles are weak and the engine are underpowered other than that they kick a**.My buddy with lifted built ranger got yanked out of a mudpit by one, quite impressive although the guy had a 350 and fj80 axles under it with 37's.
