Is there a difference between m45 06 and 08 engine? Is the all wheel drive m45 engine same as rear wheel drive? Would a all wheel drive bolt on to an m45 rear wheel drive ? Trying to buy an m45 engine for my 06 The guy says that all wheel drive engine fits on rear wheel drive only difference is the oil pan . ?? Also he says that the engine will work but will give some codes because 08 engines have different solenoids and different timing? ?

Ahhh, the almost-deja vu. This has come up before, but not sure how it ended.topic603876.html
I must say, now I am tempted to figure out exactly what is different about these solenoids.

I really wish the OP in that thread had updated us on how it went.

Looking at the parts catalog, the left and right solenoids have part #s 23796ZE00D and 23796ZE01C respectively, and those part numbers are used extensively in a lot of other Nissan V8 engines, no difference between the 06 and 08 engines. I am not sure why the solenoids would be different between the engines the OP had. If memory serves me right, the parts could be updated, but the part numbers usually change as well and will indicate what is being superseded.
Not sure exactly what is going on with that engine. If you feel brave enough, buy it and just reuse your current solenoids.

In the thread where you wanted to know the best way to remove an M45 engine, you mentioned that you had located an engine in the US. Is this eBay item the engine you were referring to?

I've found a few engines for sale different prices from low to high and different years all in the US. This specific one at ebay. Just trying to buy the right thing that would work and have no issues with. I live in Puerto Rico so i have to pay for shipping and even if i buy one with warranty i would also have to pay for shipping back and is not that cheap and takes about a month either way. Do you know if the awd engine would fit a rwd and any chages or mods that i would need to do so it can fit. Mines an 06 sport. What about mileage on these engines. Would they hold high mileage?

I understand the shipping situation, I sent you a PM. Let me know if you get a chance to go over it.

Here's a picture from my 06 engine replacement. I hope it helps illustrate where things are.
