04 Coupe...

[SVTCOBRA]

Looked at an 04 Coupe 5AT w/44K miles today.DARK BLUE with Black interior! It has prem package & spoiler.It is a FL off-lease auction car that looked to be in very good condition.New brakes, new Yoko's.They want $20,900.They want to give me $16,000 for my 05 G Sedan w/55K miles.

Did I mention it is Dark BLUE!!!

What do you think??

I like the dark blue but it doesnt really go good with a black interior... It looks clean tho... I wouldn't pay more than 18 if you really like it... It looks to have the cheap wheels and no brembos... Just by comparison, my 04 black/tan with 21k miles i got for 21,500 and its a 6MT which is harder to find and usually more expensive. It took me 7 weeks to find it, but it was worth the wait...

One of my cobra buddies got a dark blue 02/03 Max SE just after we got our 02 Max and I REALLY liked the color! I think it was a special color on the Anniv. Max's.The more I see the dark blue G's the more I like them!! G, No settling here!! ....However, still not a clue what I'll do...

Actually want the 17's for the ride. Also, I've had 17's on my other modified Cobra and they handle great. Tires make the difference.This car has new Yoko S-drive tires on it, so I'm sure it will give me what I want in the twisties.

lets put this in perspective. i bought the same car with the aero kit, bose and 18s with 37k 15 months ago for 24,500 (dealer fee included). i also made them take all the dings out.

so i say you tell them 18,500 and go up from there...

I'd keep looking. I just got an 04 6MT w/ all options but nav, with 16,101 miles on it for 21,900. It is Diamond Grafite w/ Charcoal. They are out there. Took me 6 weeks of searching autotrader, cars.com and various other sites. And I drive 10 hrs round trip to get it.

Update.Ok, drove an 06 350Z with 6MT, Brembo's and some special chocolate sparkly paint job and nice rims. Has only 17K miles for $22k. Liked it a lot.



Also, test drove a 06 Touring model loaded with leather, butt warmers and AT with 23K miles for $23K. Both were at my local Nissan dealer, & they were willing to give me a few hundred more on my car.

So, unsure what to do at this point, might put mine on cars.com, sell it, then look. Maybe the guy with the blue G35C will come down just a bit more......

Here's some quick perspective

1. $16k is about right on your trade in.. That's about what I can buy them for at the dealer auctions, which is what dictates trade in value..

2. Do you really want to spend 4k more to get a car a year older than the one you've got now?

Look for auto brokers in your area... If you were closer to me, I'd take care of you. For the 21k you're spending, I could get you a low mileage 05 or average mileage 06.. Most auto brokers charge about $1000 over auction average.. You don't get to hand-pick your car, but it's a safe bet you'll be getting a nice ride for a lot cheaper.

The auction average on the 04 is about 17k.. that means you're putting 4 grand in the dealer's pocket...

Thanks for the info!!I do know somebody that got a friend to take them and they got a great deal. I am leaning more toward selling mine myself and then going shopping for a local one owner.

I say go for a 05 or newer.. The interior is much better and you get 20 xtra hp for a 6mt... That is worth it alone!

I change my mind.. You should save the 4-5k that you would spend on the new car and add a Vortec Super Charger!

Then you will have 430 hp out of your auto and 400+ Tq

Really great car! Go for it, if you insist on having a coupe but if you are still on the fence about the decision, think seriously about a Supercharger for the difference between the car you want to buy and the one you have.

My 05 coupe was $21,600 out the door. 47k, no premium, no rear spoiler, needed tires and brakes and had two dings.

It did have the chin lip spoiler, factory 19s, and mud gaurds, clear corners, and it was a black on black 6mt.

I wouldn't buy an 04 and if I did I definately wouldn't spend over 20 for it.

Go 05+! You'll avoid any issues with the electronics. Get them to do a 90-day warranty (at least) and make sure it doesn't consume oil.

The only thing that sucks is the 05-06 years didn't have the dark blue

ha, ive been detailing the cars of my neighborhood, as of late. so she doesnt get as much play as she did before. today i drove a red accord coupe. she was jealous. had to give her a good spanking to get her to calm down.(and me too )

Drove a black/black 05 w/prem today. 32k miles. $21,500I took it and got it washed....on some places looked like somebody tried to buff it and got something under the pad... Don't know if it's fixable, so I'll pass on it.

I think I'm actually burned out on looking now.....so, I'll keep driving my sedan. It now has NICO decals in the window anyway!!! Thanks to Beaner!!!

I know that neither of my 05 AT Sedan's have this issue.
