Is there a .58 A/R housing available? I was planning on this turbo (the .64 A/R version) for my setup. I really don't mine the lag...that's what downshifting is forT88lexus wrote:you should just spray it and be done with.
GT2871, boost it like 30-32psi should get your your HP goal. .86 A/R on ss auto chrome.. have fun putting it in.
just a thought.. .58A/R will make full boost at 4100 right now with 270 cams.
I couldn't agree more. If you take 2 identical engines one, with more displacement than the other, the larger motor will always make more torque. It's simply physics....T88lexus wrote:he is talking about useable tq on CA. there is no tq gain from ca with 1.8l engine enough with advance timming from 1000-4000. yes it will move but that is not going to be enough to make useable tq.
just like 1j engine trying to get more tq on bottom end than 2j.. no matter how good you can tune. you will never find more tq WITH same set up on 1j, and 2j.. 0.5 displacement is huge. same here.1.8l can do only produce so much tq on its own.. that is why most of jap car and tomie offers ca20. ex. t88 with 1.8l vs t88 with 2.0l, there is a tq differece. i have tuned plenty of jz enough to know what needs to be done. same here.
same thing.. he wants useable tq... then spray it.. easy tq. that is the way I look at.
if you have a thought more than welcome. I dont know nothing but all I know is from my experience.
A .64 A/R GT2871R has already put out 370rwhp on an SR with cams and an intake manifold. I think it was around 19 psi or so. A few .86 A/R 2871R's have put out 380-390rwhp, so it's only a matter of time before someone pushes one to over 400rwhp. The compressor is not the problem at all, it has the flow for 360rwhp.RMiller wrote:2871R .64 is probably too small for that power. Get better rod bolts and you'll be set to rev that high.
A .64 housing too small to flow 370-380 RWHP? Dude, go get a .86 housing and tell me how you like it.TURBOKONGEN wrote:OK .How much faster will the .64 GT2871R spool up compared to the .86 ar GT2871R ?I will also be porting the turbo . The .64 ar housings can be ported a lot better , but it is still the same turbine wheel and turbine outlet diameter . I also port the wastegate outlet bigger . But I am worried thar the .64 ar housing is just too small to flow 370-380whp . PS I am not going to sprau it .
