You ever listen to any of Mt Edens stuff?kornmanz wrote:I use ableton live. I do all my productions in one night. Then go back and fix alot of things.
After posting this I realized there are alot of things I did not do to this track that I wanted to. I wanted it to have an old school hip hop breakdown with the piano and ambience going.
I also have a few textures that need work in places.
I gotta stop releasing stuff the night I make it.
:P
Yeah I like that. I'm trying to take that concept but with house music.MinisterofDOOM wrote:kornmanz...go listen to some Rob Dougan. Synthetic orchestral music with a hell of a beat.

ok I'll check the sound at 1:20. I really cannot tell keys. To me I just mix what sounds good to me.Empty V wrote:I think this is better then the other track I heard. You seem to be making progress which is good. Around 1:20 you introduce a sound that in a completely different key from your piano track which clashes. I'd keep everything in the same key or do a complete key change for the whole piece at that point. I would also write a new piano piece because it sounds like a kid just hitting random notes that happen to fall in the same scale. @ 3:31 you add in what sounds like a minor chord that's got one flat note which I'm not a fan of either. Have you take piano or music theory lessons? I would highly suggest them both because they will bring your writing to a new level.
Sorry dude but this is probably the most ignorant thing I've seen you type. You're say that educating yourself on music theory is a bad thing? You think that it will restrict your creativity? You're 100% wrong and really limiting yourself. As a writer you NEED to know why certain notes sound good together and why others don't. Why things should be written in the same key and about different scales. Seriously bro this is coming from many years of writing/producing experience which transcends genre. Music theory has nothing to do with what society things good sounds are. It's all based off of math and physics, which is exactly what music is, vibrations and frequency. Again I'm not arguing, I'm trying to help you further what you're trying to do. You think that everything you do is gold when in reality you're still a noob and being a noob is 100% OKAY. Drop the ego, take advice when given and press forward in making yourself a better artist.kornmanz wrote:

I dont sit here and pay attention to music theory cause the way I see it is its my music. I can make it how I want. So what if it doesnt fit what society says music should be. Music is a creative outlet and should not be hindered to certain guidelines or rules. Music should be free based. Do what you want, how you want it. Thats what will set me apart from all of the other millions of techno producers out there.
I aim to do techno different.
And yes, there's a minor chord on repeat throughout the track that I will fix. I did all of this in one night. I havent sent this track out to anyone yet.
How long have you been creating house music for? Simple question.kornmanz wrote:
Please show me some house music you've done. You have no right to say I'm a noob. I really really want to see HOUSE MUSIC you've done.
I could give two s***s about other genre's you do or work with if you cant do house even half as good as I can do not call me a noob.
I'm f***ing tired of the true noobs discrediting me and not giving me credit where credit is due.
My music isnt gold but I'm willing to bet alot of money its better than anything that you can do.
So you get all pissy because I call you a noob but you won't reply to anything else I wrote about like how to make yourself a more educated artist. Or about how you think that learning music theory will limit your creativity. At least answer the simplest question I asked. All you have to do is reply with a time period. It could be as simple as two words. For example: 11 months. That would suffice. So again how long have you been making house music for?kornmanz wrote:Do you create it at all? Simpler question.
First of all 1 f-ucking year is noob, 100% noob and if you don't know that then you're a complete retard. You wanna talk house music, one of my very good friends started moonshine records way before your time. You wouldn't be here if it wasn't for some of my friends. So sit down, shut up and listen to someone who has 16 more years experience then your noob a**. And being a signed artist to some indy label doesn't mean d!ck. I thought you would have learned something from our last discussion about humility, I guess I was wrong. I went back and read some of your old posts and most of them are about you talking your music up like it's the second coming of Jesus or why every other programmer in your area hates your s***. I've got the feeling you're the type of guy where everyone says the same thing to you but for some reason you think everyone in the world is wrong. Look dude, I've given you some extremely good FREE advice. If I were you I'd take it to heart instead of being butthurt. Because no matter what you say you're still a noob and it shows by your work and more importantly your attitude.kornmanz wrote:slightly over a year. And I'm a signed artist.
You know nothing about house music or how to create it. Go away meow.

I'm not judging his music by lack of experience, read my posts. I was trying to show him how learning more about why he's making the music he's making is important and how it will make him a better artist. To most people that's called help. Saying that furthering your musical knowledge is taking the art out of it is ignorant. Most people that say this are too lazy to actually put the time into their artistic foundation and want quick results. Those people plateau early and their careers are nothing but a memory. I've seen it happen hundreds of times. One of my old HS English teachers had a saying that I thought was somewhat ridiculous sounding but makes perfect sense. "You don't know what you know, until you know what you don't know." Just think about it.ProudNissanFreak wrote:They see me trollin', they hatin'...
Talent. Korn's got it. Many people do. You can't judge how good someone's music is by how long they've been creating it. That's the most ignorant bulls*** I've heard.
