Hello all...

I'm looking into buying something different than a 240sx...

Since I got into the position I'm in with business and what not, I have less time to fix things that break... Ha... -_-

Anyways...

I'm trying to decide whether I like the Honda S2000 or the Nissan 350Z better...

I was wondering what your opinions were on the subject...

Regardless, I don't have much time to be on the internet to check out comparisons for myself... But, from what I've read so far, they're both wonderful cars...

I do a lot of driving, so in case you're thinking, "hey, he doesn't have to time to research this stuff, when will he have time to drive a car?"...

Anyways, I'm looking to buy used on either car I decide... I've thought frequently about the Mazda RX-7 as well...

Finally, if you guys could point me where I should be looking for info, that'd be great... I'll get to whatever when I find some time...

It's my lunch break... And it's almost over so... Thanks guys...

if you don't have time to fix anything, stay away from an rx-7. before all the rotary lovers get all mad, i'm not saying they're unreliable, i'm saying they're old and probably beat on. there's an s2k vs. z33 thread in the "others" forum that you should check out.

on everything he said....i also thought of both of these cars before i bought my s14 and if hadn't found my gem, i would've probably bought the s2k mainly because it feels like a cockpit on the inside...among other reasons, i don't like convertibles but i was gonna buy a hardtop anyhow...but check out that thread and good luck.

Apples... oranges. One is a high-strung roadster. The other is a reasonably powerful sporty cruiser.

Give me back that filet o fish.Give me that fish.

Very different cars.

I'd go for the S2000, but that's just me.

Is low end torque important to you? If so, get the Z.

It isn't particularly important to me, and I like the S2000's power and handling characteristics at the limit, so I'd go that way.

Can't lose either way though, they're both great cars.

S2000 is gonna seem really slow around town, I personally don't like either, but

not really. one of my favorite things about the nico demographic is that we have members who are true car enthusiasts and not just brand loyal sheep. there are quite a few members who don't even own nissan products. tbh, if i were to do it all over again, i wouldn't own an s-chassis, i'd probably have a subaru in my garage. the datsun was a must, though

You're dumb.

So is blind loyalty to a brand name.

If I wanted comfort and a road/cruiser, I'd get a 350z.

If I wanted more of a "sports" car, I'd get an s2k.

brand loyalty is one thing but your comparing two cars that are not even in the same class as each other.

Yea AP1 are more simple to work on and have less "restrictions" then the AP2. Also the AP1 has a higher red line then the AP2.

Also my vote goes S2000.

I personally don't like the look of the S2000...so go with an 05+ 350Z.

JK, for a hard top, the 350z if pretty sexy.

Side Note: I'm looking to sell my s2000 too.

S2000 > 350Z

both are pretty lame from the factory though....I like the sportiness of the Honda more than the 350Z

I destroy both in the S13...get a nice shell and do an SR swap....youll save yourself some monies and you eat both their asses

S2k has one hell of a transmission and is more fun from the factory. But if mods are coming into the picture 350z all the way.

lol

I just dont have the money for an S2000 or a 350Z...gotta make something that is superior and cheaper...

A swapped S-chassis car with tasteful mods (coilovers, brakes, wheels) is a great bang for the buck...I dont want another payment every month...

put down the hateraide Blake

If I was going to have a really expensive car...Id opt for an FD prolly

...or an older Porsche

S2000 for the simple speed effects, Z33 for the bosser look.

You think?

I think that both are astoundingly good from the factory.

There is VERY little that can be done to actually make an S2000 better, at least in terms of making it better at what it's supposed to be good at (i.e. boost need not apply).

I mean, maybe coilovers and LSD tuning, tires of course, brake compounds, but it is DAMN capable right off the factory floor.

The 350Z makes a little more sense to mod. Boosting a Z33 makes sense....boosting an S2k never made sense to me.

But yeah, give me S2k + Factory HT + single exhaust + tires + new pads and I'd be just about fine.

boosting a Z33 and adding suspension is a great idea...Z33 stock is a dog IMAO...

I love the S2000, they have their place....relly annoying driving them on the street....but a closed course where you can rip its head off the whole time, they shine...Z33 are heavy and a little underpowered for my liking...the good thing is, is that they are both coming down in price and can be had pretty cheaply now....I like what I have, and they are paid off

Id rather spen the monies and import an R32 GTR or pick up an FD...

they own

except the 240 bandwagon kids.

<---will stick up for Hondas any day of the week.

that said, if I had to chose between the two, I'd opt for the S2k assuming I can drive one comfortably.
