rutters HQ (its a dairy farm that runs retail stores)im guessing some markets would have it, think fish markets was about 2.20 a pound or 12.50 for a 5lb bag i used 5 bags total. not the cheapest thing but it does the trick. i actually nicked the metal in some spots just using a chisel

I need to get some, but I'm not sure where to get it at. Doing it all by hand I've put about 4hrs into it and I have all the rear hatch area and some into the rear seat. Its horrible. -_-; Once you bought it how did you apply it?

Yo hb, I pretty much did the same exact thing to my trunk area of the car not too long ago (used the black and decker power drill with a wire brush thing too.), anyways where would one be able to get dry ice? I tried taking the sound deaden...er(?) stuff off with the wire brush and that was a big mistake. Just sprayed sh** just about everywhereKeep us updated on your progress ...im actually looking at this thread for reference if you couldn't tell already

because hours of work and 50 dollars on dry ice is a small price to pay for a couple pounds of weight loss.

I gotta give you respect for doing all the sound deadenin stuff, I dont think I would have the patience to do all that! You should do a write up on the shim installation since I want to do that to my VLSD to get a 2way action Keep it coming

alright well i covered it a million times but obviously you are slowim removing it because i have rust. im replacing it with new material how do you not get that "sound deadening" it blocks the noise from suspenison travel, motor, transmission, exhaust etc and absorbs the heat from the mechanical aspects of the car

alright small update:i reassembled my diff after cleaning the housing and painting it. needs some touch-up spots but overall its pretty good. helical looks great in the pumpkin, and should feel nice with my test drive on my way to my friend's for bodywork.

to those asking how hard the swap is, is simple once you get the pumkin out. its putting it back on thats a pain in the a**. i managed to get it by myself, but a second set of hands would've been nice. you gotta line up the two axles first, due to the way the lock together. i made the mistake of trying to bolt it to the subframe first. tommorow i need to tighten everyting up back there and ill be good to go. I was running late to work. the diff in the car
heres a shot of the drivers side floor, with my wiring finished until i pull the dash. its basically without the US seatbelt wiring and all that junk goin to their control box.
