Sorry for the crappy pictures, all I had was my cell phone and it’s hard to stop and take pictures for this procedure.

Bring the ashtray/gearbox trim in and try to match it. If your dash has faded due to the sun, it’s going to be near impossible to find a color match for the SEM Color Coat. You’re best off removing the whole dash, repairing and repainting it.

Interesting fix. I tried all combos of filler, putty, fiberglass resin and glues and every time it would sit in the Texas summer sun, the cracks would open up again. Let us know how it holds up and I may forgo the plastic dash cover for this method.

If you guys need better pictures, I posted it on that other forum (sorry can't post link, don't want to break the rules)... On the very top I link it to a thread that has another guy do it, but not tell us how. He has great pictures of the results.

Hope this helps for the meantime.

No doubt.

I just discovered the beginning of a small crack in my pristine dash.

Or go to the junkyard and find a PERFECT dash hiding under years of dust for 35 bucks! I think the dust protected it from the sun.

Will this work with full on tears? My airbags did quite a job on my dash.
