he first link you posted shows the best procedure. the other two are just pick of the area.
about that lock washer... you can use a flathead screwdriver and pry up all 4 sides then use the wrench to get the inner tie rod out. before you disassemble your car, go to the hardware store and pick up some of the washers.
if using a beefier tierod, (like tein) then the lock washers are too small to work. in this case i spot welded mine on.
i have run tierods with out the lock washer and with out spot welding. i strongly suggest not.
changing tierods are not as hard as it seems, just make sure you go for an alignment
