Intake system is done except for a couple of stabilizer brackets off of the 4" Intake Runners. I ended up using the 90mm Lightning MAF Sensor so I shouldnt have any issues with the engine breathing ! I have removed the engine yesterday and have it torn down waiting on Cams & Springs. A little machine work is left to do on one of the cams for the trigger wheel. Still have a couple of items to wrap up - Weld Oil Pan, build crank sensor mount, some small wiring issues, etc... Should be 100% complete in two weeks and on the dyno...

Make me want to build a Baja buggy for myself. What are the rules for those for public road use in CA? Or are they OHVs only?

OHV only unless you put fenders on them as well as turn signals, etc... You would also have to register it as an experimental vehicle which can be a pain.

Dyno day went very well at JWT ! Remember - Stock Motor w/40,000 miles on it, JWT C-8 Cams, JWT Springs, Extrudabody ITB's, Exhaust... 401hp to the ground ! We figure 480 at the crank with the parasitic loss through the brand new 5 Spd Transaxle, CV's etc... Torque came in at 380ft lbs at the wheels ( 450-460 at the crank ) It revved well right up to the 7200rpm rev limiter ! This is on pump gas with some pretty conservative timing and AF Ratios ! We still have some minor tweaking to do with timing but I'm very happy with the results ! The next step would be to put some compression into it with some race gas... or... At lunch we were talking about how easy it would be to hang a couple turbos off of it... HMMMMMM..... I want to thank Clark Steppler, Jim Wolf and the rest of the gang at JWT for all of their help and hard work that went into the development of this project ! Well done !

Thanks for the compliments - I have a number of good friends that all pitched in and helped, couldnt have done it on my own ! In case anyone is wondering, we ended up hijacking a Cam Sensor off of a VH45 and adapted it to the VK56 and it works real good ! Try this link - Video quality isnt real good but it's the Audio that counts !

We machined a driver that bolts to the Cam and can only be clocked one way at the end of the VH Cam Sensor ( just like the factory unit ) Jim Wolf drew it up and machined it, you can order them through JWT along with the Cam cover and slotted spacer.

Here's the You Tube link to the dyno run as well.

for a few years now guys on the titan forum have wanted to do ITBs, as soon as I read it on the 1st pages I thought to myself u must be abbreviating for something else that I don't know what it is... then I keep reading/scrolling and see the pix... DAMM nice job, as for mid 12's one of the titan forum members does 12.9 NA with WAY less than this in his titan this thing should do 11s or better imo WAY lighter much more aerodynamic just all around a better platform to do better in the 1320 far as I'm concerned. I would LOVE to see times on this and u'll more than likely have quite a few of the qualifications to run as is it IS a rollcage aready and I'm sure it will also have a multipoint harness and u probably run a helmet all the time.. I have a lifted 4wd so I'm not TOO too versed on what all is needed for cranking at the track but I'm familiar with some of it. I plan on taking my titan down the track after my headers and stuff, probably get some JWT cams as well

I recommend looking to uprev experienced tuners to compare notes on what is regular and hot timing for the VK56 I'd definitely like to see this thing doing over 400tq on pump gas which imo is probably still a conservative tune. really looking forward to vids, please join the titan forums and post up some info of ur bug there. it's just too awesome to not be there. someone posted a link to here from one of them is how I got here :D

anywho, awesome rig u built and friggen to all the custom headaches I mean work u put in just doing simpler stuff is a hectic deal for most building on a running platform... to change and build from scratch just about everything is retarded in a good way :D it's beyond sick it's disgusting..

as for putting turbo on relentless getting 475whp on a titan rolling 22"s... this is an STS turbo on around 5psi, so no custom turbo mani and the turbo is on the primary exhaust pipe just before the muffler iirc, it has no headers and I don't think it even had exhaust, they went to like 7psi hit over 500whp, then went to like 9psi and had some tuning problems or something and bent a rod around 525-550whp iirc... they're supposed to be releasing a kit that'll run around 4-4 1/2lbs boost to the public something I'd enjoy if I can use it offroad and not have issues, I could always limp home outta boost if I had a problem I suppose anyway, don't wanna go TOO OT, but +1 on turbo is my vote, something like an STS can be used with aftermarket headers in a regular app, but for u I'm sure u'd have no problem making a turbo exhaust mani lol.
