Yea so today was the worst ever. I wake up and almost break my key because my key slots were frozen on the car. Then I get hit by some lady in a BMW. So I was going to drop my brother off at school and I am about to turn into a street and boom head shot! So I was coming off a main road trying to turn to the left, th e street Im turning into has a stop sign to the people turning into the road Iam coming off of. So I have the right away and theres an on coming car so I let him by, then a black BMW pulls up to the stop sign and doesnt even wait for me to get by and she starts going. When I start to turn I noticed she didnt even look at me and just hit the gas. This is a little drawingMan to make things worst her husband came and tried to buy his way out of it saying he has friends that could fix this "minor" damage. Thats when I was like no than thanks. Then after that he got all mad and started saying s#it in spanish. I dont think he noticed that I was spanish but he kept saying, " all you stupid kids are the same, so you think your going to get a new car now huh" then he kept smiling and acting like a smart arse. But he kept repeating that.. "all this for a new car, look at this old piece of s#it" He was acting like I ment for his wife to hit me and what not. I was trying to hold in my anger because this guy was really getting to me. Well now I have to call the insurance, its not even 10 yet and my day is already ruined. Ill post actual pics when my camera stops acting stupid... Thanks for reading I feel so down now.

I don't about you but i still would have insisted on filing somekind of report just to have it on file, i think that cop just didn't want to do paperwork.

Here are some pics I took. Opinions on how much it would cost to fix??? Insurance gave me a couple of places I can take it to get it worked on but I dont know if I should take it somewhere cheap and just get a check from the insurance co. Sorry if they're too big.

That’s not going to be cheap, If they replace the quarter panel they have to plasma cut all of yours out. Then find a donor car cut that one out and mount it to yours.

Pull it out as much as possible and go with over fenders.

Man that sucks, I would have called the cops, if the guy bas being all beligerant, maybe he would have gotten arrested, then you would have had a police report to show the insurance companies, it would have helped in the long run. Good luck man, I hope you can get everything fixed nice. Is that wheel bent? Maybe you can get a new set of wheels out of the deal.

Damn dude, they ****ed up your couch! take it to a few different places and get the most expensive one and send that to your insurance and get the check cut, then take it to a cheap body place and like assassin said, get them to fix it as much as possible and get overfenders...it probably won't look as pretty as stock or even go with the rest of your car but now you'll have more money to play with for other parts!

Overfenders look good if you take the time to mount them right. Thats what ill be doing when i start my body work. Plus you can run lower offset wheels.

Car is flat out totaled.

Sorry about that.

Easily 3-6 grand to repair properly.

The damage extends all the way up to the top of the rear quarter and rear quarter damage is some of the most expensive to repair.

To fix that properly, I would guess that they would need to cut the whole quarter panel off, weld in a new one, and then match the paint.

From the looks of it, they hit the inner fender well pretty hard too.

Not cheap at all!

Get ready to sue or get a payoff and start looking for a new car.

Wow, I just looked at the top pic, is there really a crease extending to the rear window or is that an illusion?

If its a crease going to the rear window, yeah, this car is going to need a lot of work to be like it was before the accident.

A lot more than what its probably worth trade in value.

Loki's got a point... +1Especially after he insulted the car and accused you of trying to total your own car, I say take it to court and remember all the smart *** **** he said to repeat to the judge.

i would have hit him with a torque wrench, then called the cops and told them he attacked me. then i would press charges, sue him, and slap his wife, but maybe thats just the mood im in.

I dont think that it is anywhere near 3 to 6 thousand dollars, but I may be wrong. I would like to know what the estimate is going to be when you find out. the quarter needs to be changed and I dont care what anyone says there is no way that you can pull that damage and make it look any way decent. Even with overfenders you will still be able to see the upper quarter and anwave in the body line. i am going to say if you find a rear fender used you can get it done for 1500

1500 to replace a whole rear QP? Your out of your damn mind.

I can pull that out and install overfenders and it will look fine. Plus it will only cost 250 + paint.

I'm talking from an insurance standpoint. Not a backyard hack job.

To get it done professionally is gonna cost a LOT of money. Look how far the side of the rear quarter is pushed in. The damage appears to extend all the way up to the rear window.

Now figure out how much it will cost a profesional body shop to repair that damage to as it was before the accident. No overfenders or other hack jobs but a real removal of the rear quarter and replacement and straightening out of all the sheetmetal and bracing behind the quarter skin.

When you see an accident like this, you don't look at it from the standpoint of a doityourselfer, you look at it from how the insurance will see the accident since he wasn't at fault.

My wife was hit in almost the same spot about 5 years ago. They nicked her door and put a 2 inch shallow dent just front of the rear wheel well. Same spot as the OP's car except much less damage.

Cost the insurance company 2300 dollars. They had to pay us that much money to get it repaired. And that damage was much less than this.

Car damage is almost always more expensive than it looks.

Rightttt....

Find a professional body shop that will touch that rear quarter for under 3k and then get back to me.

And not a hack that is just going to pop rivet some over fenders right over the existing damage and then bondo it up. Find me a real estimate from a real body shop for 250 + paint. Hell the paint probably will cost 500-grand to redo professionally on that car alone.

Insurance is defiinitely going to total it. Big money in repairs needed there.
