He blew the motor and sold all the swap parts. No more updates besides that.

Just curious. How did it blow and any indications of why?

Hmm. I would definately like more info on this. I might have to find a way to keep them bitches in place in my car because I know it is going to be bouncing off the rev limiter every run. Do these have a crank girdle?

If you'd like any internal engine pictures I have a couple good ones I got while assembling my engine. The original suspicions for the spun bearings were thought to be due to the front sump. GS14racer and someone else (who???) both spun bearings, and were both running front sumps. I haven't heard of anyone else having an issue who has converted to a rear sump. Not really sure if these cars are pulling enough G's on acceleration to starve the oil pickup though. They WERE designed for a front sump, after all.

You always want to use copper or other soft metal, or else the springs will dig into the head and cause problems. The copper absorbs the beating this way, not the head.

It sounds like the same issue that the KAs have when drifting. You have to keep them over fill or else they starve for oil when sliding. I have witnessed two local KAs do this because people don't keep their oil at atleast the fill mark.

well its about time to bring this thread back from the dead, after boiling over this for the past few months then regretting i sold the whole setup, then doing the sr20det, i got another low mileage clean vh45de with good maintence. Its a 95 motor and runs good, the only thing i can tell thus far it has wrong with it is it barfs some black smoke from time to time. Probably has an injector or two bad, or sparkplugs need to be done. But we will see, i hope to have the engine in the car by next weekend and running the week after that but i guess we will see. This time around i will be using the complete kit from mazworx so install should be a breeze. Hoping this time we can push this fuc@ker over 300whp.Also the car is completly different too , it is now widebody with a 6 point tigwelded roll cage and kouki front end, different color too. Ill be posting more pics in the days to come as im in cancun mexico now on vacation lol. Stay tuned

Yea back for more, this time for good i think.Well back from vacation and this is where the car sits, ill hopefully have pics of the VH up later this week. after i took the original VH out this is what my engine bay looked like

Stitch welded the whole front end

Stripped the interoir out, cut the hump on the floor and welded mounts for a momo fixed seat

Anyway, after that i removed all the windows , and rest of stuff. Primed and painted the interior with 3 coats of Dupont Chromabase and 4 coats of dupont chroma clear in mercedes indium grey metallic. Its like a gunmetal with gold metallic.

Then i cut and re welded the front wheel houses for more clearance with the 275s up front, they shouldnt rub any more

then painted the engine bay, again dupont primer, basecoat and 4 coats of clear.

More pics to come

well im sure that they did not half *** it im not doubting their work. just a few things i dont like about it even though its just a roll bar 1) the 2 piece diagonal bar 2)the way its is concaved dose not help for strength during roll over. 3) the placement of the diagonal, its welded near the weakest point on the hoop. but its tig welded so thats b*dass and strong and saves weight but i still love your car! keep it up gives me hope.

Thanks good to be back lol. Front sump is the only way to go unfortunatly. I dont think it was the original problem anyway. The motor should be running this weekend, im trying out the mazworx kit this time so everything should be plug and play.

looks nice man, but im curious as to why they didnt just go vband on the headers...its such a tight fit in that area anyways that a vband would help clearance. curious to see how well it fits.

Heres todays progress , thanks to YUCA for the help. Getting the flywheel off
Removing the pain in the @ss auto bushing

Flywheel and clutch install

Have to cut the original starter mount off so the z32 starter can fit

Reassembled the Z32 tranny, took almost 2hrs to get the tranny on as the act clutch disc splines where tight as hell and wouldnt let the tranny slide in. Second act clutch this has happened with.
Here it is assembled waiting to go in the car. Looks hot, once its in there ill remove alot of parts for powdercoating. Havent decided what color to do the valve covers this time as wrinkle red is getting a bit played out what do you guys think.

Hopefully she will go in tommorow if hurricane gustav isnt lingering still

slide hammer ftmfw to get auto converter bushings out. looks like you'll have to pull the headers to install the mount plates. looking good tho man, i just finished the passneger header on my car and that was a pain in the ***.
