Engine is in for the last time, it will not be coming out again, hahahaha it is on the mounts, tranny is installed on the mount, headers are bolted up, everything is good to go just have to button some little odds and ends and should be almost done. Motor mounts powder coated

I running the q45 ecu and engine harness , all the rest is 240sx.The mounts will fit the same on an s13 however the rack clearance might be different being as the cars use different racks, all though they interchange s13-14 the mounting points are different.

HEres todays progressClutch lines, slave, etc are in clutch engages perfect, starter is on motor turns over but doesnt fire yet, still need a couple more parts should have by tommorow. Heres the booster clearance, although in the picture it looks tight , you can stick your whole hand in between the booster and the valve cover.

This is the way i think im gonna sit the radiator

Shifter placement, feels perfect.

Thatd be tight, Im guessing the easiest way for me to make mine is goto a junkyard or part out and buy the crossmember and steering rack from an S13 and test fit it? and then just drop the whole thing in once motor mounts are build on and stuff?Hopefully my plans I have no idea, I think some crazy things sometimes...

Great job, that engine looks beautiful in there. I just finished converting my NA 300zx to a twin turbo. Down the road I would like to sell off all my turbo hardware and put a VH in place of the VG. Has anyone measured the distance between the frame rails on the S14 vs the Z32, or will the clearance be just as tight on the sides in my Z?

It will fit in the Z32. There are a couple members here with Q V8's in Z32's.

oh and btw the video was without an idle air control valve or fast idle solenoid hooked up, the motor starts and holds perfect idle without it so i dont think im gonna run the idle air control valve. any downsides?

As well as most of the other sensors on the motor people tell me theyre just "Luxury sensors" and dont really do anything, I dunno - maybe rip em all off... Like the exhaust temp and idle control etc? When I looked at the motor there was wires everywhere, but I didnt think all of those could contribute to just the running of the motor? My 2 cents :P

If you want your motor to be a pig of a thing on a cold morning, go right ahead and rip off the idle control valve... and if you don't care for fuel economy and like having it run rich, go right ahead and rip out the O2 sensor. All of these things serve to make the engine run smoother and more efficiently, and even if you're changing its configuration somewhat, it helps to retain stuff like that if you aren't planning on doing any major retuning.

This is all the wiring that had to be connected
-16 fittings welded to the radiator

Fabbed up an alternator bracket for the 240sx alternator, and used the old vh45 a/c tensioner flipped upside down and sideways to tension the whole assembly. The powersteering will work right above the alternator however i just want to drive the car at this point so ill make the bracket later, haha

Plenty of room for a vortech supercharger now with the rad mounted this way. plus i have an empty 6 rib pulley space on the crank pulley

Well got the radiator mounted properly, and got the two upper braided radiator hoses minus one fitting which will be here tommorow, all i have to do to drive it at this point is make a water inlet for the water pump and thats it. Im gonna try and figure that out tommorow.

I agree that this thread is pretty damn cool. I think that vid of the car bouncing off the rev limiter was with the computer in limp/error mode where it won't let you go over 3K rpm. And those red valve covers are sexy. I'm about to tear into my spare VH and will probably go with red covers too... and megasquirt with a home built intake.

As the selfproclaimed first person to stick a vh45 in an s chassis in florida, Welcome to the club. Very nice work! If you`re curious what it sounds like with a flowmaster check this out http://videos.streetfire.net/v...9.htm We also have a z32 tranny, but an n/a. A/C was a nogo in the s13 chassis. we were able to use the ps in the stock location just modified the tension rod bracket. There is a pic of it in the car here http://www.ellisautoworkz.com/450SX.htm . Not as nice as your`s, it was deffinatly a budget build, hell the car was only $600. The motor is making 225 hp at 800 rpm at the rear wheels. It`s plain sick to drive, Once again, sweet build. Can`t wait to see it one day. BTW, we are in Tampa.
