Coming along very nice

I'm still a bit worried about the whole car being fiberglass. How many layers are used in it?

This is starting to look really cool.

Where are you going to drive this? You're not going to drive it daily, are you? That'd be a terrible waste, it'd go to hell in no time at all.

yeah but I would be just another guy with a stock GT-R(not a bad thing) I just wanted to build something cool and that no one else had, something I could call my own.

the car is going to be many things to me, a show car, a weekend car, and a demo car for the company I'm going to start, but not a daily driver. I know I have to be carefull but at the same time I'd like to see what it does in the 1/4. my body man is not just putting the kit on, he's also reinforcing it to hold up to 500+ hp.

I think the reason why everyone was doubtful at first is because we did not know you had the funding to pull off a project like this in the quality required to make it look cool.

I know this is what ran through my head...

"17yo kid is buy this kit.. try to attach it with zipties and get it painted at Maaco"

Looks awsome though man! What are you doing engine/suspension wise? or is that a secret? can't wait to see it finished, what color are you going to paint it?

well it's been a 3+ year project, I saved and saved and the first thing I did was buy the kit and rims, then I saved and saved some more and then buying the RB25 and going out to cali to have Mckinney do the swap, then came back and started saving to have the kit installed. I'm a manager at a restraunt, I don't make the big bucks but I did make the big sacrifices to build this car, that means buying nothing big that didn't have to do with my car in the last 3 years(and having a very supportive girlfriend ) but it will be all worth it when it's finnished.

as far as engine wise, I have a rb25 putting out around 300whp, but, not on the car, I have a bigger turbo(pt67), HKS manifold and wastegate, ported head, bigger cams, I need alot more but this winter I'm doing a complete rebuild and shooting on 500-600whp. as far a suspension, there's alot I want to do but at this time funds are for the body and motor. I do have the Meg coilovers cause everyone said good things about them and it's not like I'm building a drift or track car so they'll do(on a budget) I have the cusco 6piont roll cage(soon to be 8+) and tri rear strut bar, fender brace. I wanted to buy this kit from SPL for front and back but someone told me if most of my driving was going to be on the streets, they didn't recommend it, so I don't know. I also plan on getting sway bars, that energy bushing kit, I know there's more but this is starting to turn into a novel so

Amazing thread! Amazing project! Qudos to you for holding the course. You must have a tremendous amount of patience and fortitude, along with deep pockets to stay the course. While there are things I might do differently, I commend you on your vision and passion. At the end of the day it will be uniquely your project and dream come to reality. That is a dream we chase in our own ways but rarely fulfil. For all those talk about what they're going to but have one excuse or another, you keep on track. As far the money goes, you could spend 50k on a new car, but it would only be one amongst many of the same. Your project will yield a truly custom car like no other. Keep going!

What is wrong with full aftermarket rear arms?

They will mostly just be louder than stock arms. Won't feel that much stiffer. Most of the stiffness feel will come from the coilovers.

Keep in mind though, that you can go super low, and only require ruca's and rear toe arm.

Definately get front tension rods and tie rods though. Those will definately help out.

curious as to how strong that kit is. my main concern is the bottom where the vent is (the gap between the kit and acutal car). is there anything that is going to be put there because it looks as if wind could come up and pull that off.

other than that though that is a nice job! i have liked that kit for the longest time ~3yrs+

I've been watching this thread since it started, and I must say that it seems to be coming along beautifully! I will openly and honestly say that I would probably never do something like this (as such is not my preference), but I could never hate on what you're doing. It's very, very clear that you're putting serious time, consideration, effort, and *ahem* cash into this, and I am more than certain the end result will confirm that. Great work! Keep us posted.

Enough sunshine. Now it's time for the negative. I am most definitely hating on your budget (cuz I ain't gotz it like that)!

I'm not going to beat around the bush, when it comes to suspension, I don't know much. maybe you can make a list of what you would reccomend on a street car, and I'll have a better idea......thanks

and like I said guys, thanks for all the kind words, help. and support. I know this isn't what most of you would do with your 240...... but hay, thats why I'm doing it. .....oh by the way Kaleo55, nice car!
