So i got my kit tonite, came home, checked all the parts over, then went right ahead and ordered a pizza and started working. Ran into problems as usual, such as the Inj cap/cover (or w/e the hell theyre called) snapping, gas fumes through out the house from the removal of the ka injs, trying to find out how to mount the smic, getting the f-ing heat sheild off the dam headers (what a bi tch it is to get that stupid heat sheild...mine had rusted nuts and bolts, so we started to cut at it which made it harder : ). Then it looked like it was down hill from there...nope couldnt get the nuts on the ka down pipe off, spent about a half hour pb-blasting all of them (which helped for two, ones still on there), but of course like i said theres still one on there which just happens to be in THE worst spot, cant get my impact up there, cant even get my breaker bar w/ extensions up there : . But w/e here are some pics of the status of the car now, if anyone has any tips for taking the ka down pipe off, please share, also i will be posting more pics as we move along. Ive got some questions about sensors and what not, but thats for later : . So with out further delay heres your pics...Completely stock to having the 370s in along with the full cold side done, bov mounted, smic installed, and heat sheild off (god i hate that stupid thing 3 hours me and my friend spent working on it and what happens??? my 12 year old brother got it off in 3 mins ) But ya heres your pics enjoy!

i know what bolt ur referring to.......................its gonna be a two man job. one of u needs to be up top with a rachet on one end. ur gonna have to be underneath the car with a wrench or rachet on the other end. u MAY lose some skin and blood so put on some gloves as u know our cars have some sharp surfaces that are purposely in weird locations waiting to take blood from you so that it can go to the blood bank. the pb blaster should've worked tho.

If you can find a way to get a good breaker on it, that's better than the impact. The steady pressure will twist the stud off. That's how I did mine.

Thanks for the replies guys...ya its just a basic setup for me to play around with and get the feel of boost (a.k.a. budget haha). But ya you guys guessed right, t25, sr smic, rfl bov, ssa bottom mount (the welds actually surprised me an a pro. welder i took the mani to). And all the other goodies. Do you guys think you could show me where i need to bung the oil pan? That would be great. Ill keep you posted.

Yeah why are you bothering to take the nuts off of the stock exhaust? Just cut that thing right off of the car! I cant imagine that you ever plan on using that part again, right? Cut it!

Haha cutting it is then, ive just got one question. For the oil pan, where does the bung need to be put in at? And can i just thread it in or do i have to have it welded? I got a T Flange with the kit, so that means that both the return and feed hook up to that right? Thanks for all the help guys...all im waitin on now are the answers to these questions lol and my fp and safc. Thanks once again, this forum rocks

We discussed this in another thread. You will want to weld it on. You could find a way to bolt it on, but if that thing breaks, it's good bye engine and turbo. Sorry it can't be easier, I wish it could be too. But good to see you will be boosting soon. Good Luck!

thats is the tube for your aiv valve. (air injection valve) which is for emissions, you wont need it since you are putting on a different manifold and putting the turbo there. all it does is inject air into the exhaust stream to continue the combustion process of the few unburned hydrocarbons after the spent gasses leave the cylinder.

it shouldnt look like a sensor, sensors have wires and crap going to them. If its just a pipe, its your egr or AIV system. you should COMPLETELY remove your aiv system (the thing that used to go to your stock airbox). This thing just takes up a whole lotta space in the engine bay. once you get it out, you should have more room to get to your manifold bolts and all sorts of other crap

Hey good job looks similar to the same setup as mine, but i do recommend rapping up those metal brake line leading to the brake booster, with a type of hiet shield. If not have fun stopping . also i have a little question what did you do with the vacumm lines leading to the aiv, (sensor) theres two of them. also what piggy back system do you have? to control fuel, air. also if you can im me at s13drft89 using aim thanks-Ricky

Since you asked for a pic of an oil pan, here's mine: I don't have AC so I think you'll need to move it forward/backwards some to clear the AC bracket. It's best to decide on a position from above, because you want a clear shot(read: straight down, as vertical as possible) from the the return side of the turbo.

Slip, is that welded, or did you nut it on the back side?

Welded on the inside only... wish I had gotten a picture of it from the other side, the weld shop did an awesom job. It's a -10AN weld-in fitting from Summit(I think Earl's Racing makes it).

the egr pipe is almost a straight pipe that comes off the manifold closer to the 4th runner. the aiv pipe is the curved pipe in the picture
