Like the topic said, I had the 2.5" Stainless Steel BRM exhaust system w/resonaor sold by our very own Greg (Azhitman) installed today.

Unit was ordered on 4/10, UPS knocked at my door 4/14. That's fast service, since these are built to order.

I am glad I went with this system. Car is basically stock. The only thing that may influence the sound is a K&N drop in filter for the airbox.

I haven't taken it for an extensive testing yet but I will tomorrow on my way to work. I need to record the sound level and check out the acceleration at certain RPM levels.

The GoodThe sound is awesome!! Very deep without the lawnmower top end we have all heard.

There is also a bit more oomph than there was before. I don't know what 8 HP more feels like but it did add something. Torque doesn't seem to have droped off. Not that I can tell anyway. Last time I checked, my butt dyno needed tuning.

It looks nice. A big improvement over the stock unit.

The wife likes how it sounds when she is standing outside, and how the car accelerates.

The BadI've done some welding in my time and the ones on the unit I got are not the neatest but they sure are well done. No worries about this thing coming apart.

There is a clearnace issue with the resonator and the rear anti-roll bar. It's very close and will hit the bar if jerked hard. No big deal but it may cause a problem when I get larger diameter bars.

The wife doesn't like the sound with the windows up.Overall I am well pleased with this unit. great job Greg. Very nice product and speedy service.

The exhaust hangers are loose and need to be replaced. You'll see how much it shakes when it starts up. I already ordered a set from Ebay.

Now all I need is some more money to replace my faulty cat.

Pictures are being uploaded to NICO now. Will update this post with the pics.

Hey tpeezy, I need that FTP info again so I can upload the movies.

These tips are the only things that I saved from the old exhaust. They are for sale to the first person who needs them

Note, 1600x1200 versions of these pictures and more can be found on my members pics page here . Here are the Videos.

Ols Exhaust Rattle

Resonator & Sway bar Clearance This is not as big a deal as I thought it would be. Olny if I hit a severe bump/pothole would I be worried. Can't hear any knocking when driving.

Start Up and Rev it a bit Camera was about 1.5 - 2 feet from the bumper, and you can see the angle.

Idle Camera was about 1 foot from the bumper.

I'll post More movies such as drive-bys, down shift drive-by and some in-car sounds later. I need a filming crew........................and a real mini-DV camcorder.

big thanks to Kruznby for hosting these. Tpeezy, I'll definately be using up your bandwidths man.

Looks good. I haven't put my BRM exhaust on yet...will be doing that soon. The clearance with the sway bar is *really* tight. That's a bit disconcerting.

They do still offer the dual tip style for s14's right? Im sold on the BRM. After i get my springs and shocks, the next thing on my list is a 2.5 inch alumanized with a 22" resonator.

maximus, our cars are almost exactly the same, except mine is a base (though that is becoming less and less apperant) and i got a dual tip system.

mine hits the sway bar all the time and i couldn't get it to sit right in the middle of the opening. maybe they should adjust the jig a little.

i agree with you on the other stuff, the welds aren't perfect, but they get the job done, and it sounds great. mine is a lot louder than expected, though i have a testpipe and a hotshot header on it.

here are some pics of the dual tip system.

greg, feel free to use these pics or reference them if someone else has a request for pics of a dual tip system. i have more and i can take more if you like.

Yo cdlong, that header and the test pipe will definately bump up the volume. Can you take some movies as well so we have an idea as to what those mods will do to the sound? We have a good baseline with my car cause it's completely stock , so yours would be nice as well.

The dual-tip looks nice. My next mod will hopefully be easy...........................de-wing the car and fill the holes............................unless someone wants to trade their base trunk for my SE winged trunk

Hey Greg, feel free to put these movies in the BRM sticky. Good for prospective buyers to know.

i would but my digi cam doesn't take sound with the video and i don't know anyone with a camcorder. i'll try though.

BTW the videos don't work for me.

yeah!! you like that don't you! Exactly what I was going for. The thing sounds like ti has a turbo. (Cause the only cars I've heard that deep are WRX's and EVOs)

Thanks man, but give the props to Azhitman. Magnaflow been in the business for years so they should know their **** by now.

That sound is beautiful. It sold me on the system. What size resonator did you get on that? 22"?

edit: reading your sig, it appears it is the 22". Reading. On a messageboard. What a concept

am i missing something?

correction, it is the 14" res that came with it. I made my sig when I first got the car. Need to update sig with links to everything I've done.

THat sound does sell the product, doesn't it?

Wow, it sounds GREAT! It seriously sounds like a boxer engine (nothing wrong with your timing i hope ). I have a pacesetter (or something) exhaust that was salvaged from a junkyard, the muffler was cut off and a Magnaflow single-tip oval canister was welded on. Improved the flow and sound two-fold. But I've been intending on getting a nicer system, and since i love my Magnaflow canister, BRM is an obvious choice.

What is strange is that my resonator on my 3" BRM exhaust sits WAY farther forward on the exhaust system. It comes no-where near the rear sway bar. I guess they changed a few things. I have had it for about 5 months now.....

Wow, it sounds just like the engine, except louder and from the back. I like that.

I wonder how much quieter it would be with the 22 incher, iv'e always wanted my engine to be louder then the exuast anyways. Well, the good kinda loud i mean.

Did u both get the stainless steel exhaust? cause u can only get a 14" resonator with it, vs the other sizes for the aluminumized.

Unless I don't know what I'm talking about which is also possible.
