Post Title: New! 2009 ALPINE CD Players - I-Pod - XM/Sirius
Posted by: Broadfield at 6:38 PM 2/13/2009

These are in stock and ready to ship. Not all of the 2009 models are available yet, but will be soon. Some models are carry overs from 2008 and will be current models throughout the year. All prices include shipping to the continental US. All Alpine head units support iPod full speed control..... a must if you have an iPod. You will need an optional cable which runs $25, but the more expensive units include the cable. I am going to post links for each unit to Alpines main site. There are too many features and specs to list them for every radio. Just let me know if you have any questions. I have been selling/installing Alpines for 16 years, so I should be able to answer any question you may have. I stock all accessories: iPod cables, Bluetooth modules, satellite tuners, and installation parts etc. I take Payal and will generally have your item shipped out the very next day.

Product Update: Alpine's new add-on amplifier is now shipping. The KTP-445 is a 45-watt x 4 RMS amplifier. It simply plugs inline into the back of your Alpine. So no wiring, no hassle etc. It is small enough to fit behind the radio of most vehicles. It works with any 'black" plug Alpine head units.

When will you have the iDA-X100 or iDA-X305 in stock? And do those models come with the ipod cables or do you have to purchase them seperately?

Yes, they are in stock and ready to ship.

You can Paypal to toby.broadfield@comcast.net

Let me know if you have any questions or need any other parts.

Thanks,

Toby

Edit: Wait, did you mean the 102 or 105? The 105 isn't available until April. The 102 is what I have in stock.

The new 305's are in route to my store. I should have them either tomorrow or Monday. The connection is actually a USB cable, which it comes with. It also comes with a USB --> iPod pigtail. So it comes with everything you need to hook up your iPod. You will love this unit! It doesn't get any better for controlling an iPod.

Sounds good! Another quick question, can you remove the faceplate off the stereo? And also do you sell the harness kit to make it compatible for a 2000 honda civic ex?

Post Title: Re: New! 2009 ALPINE CD Players - I-Pod - XM/Sirius (DoubleURX)
Posted by: Broadfield at 10:56 AM 2/27/2009

Yes, the removable face plate consists of everything but the screen. The wiring harness would be another $5.00 and I have them in stock. I also have the dash kit if you need it.

I prefer Paypal. You can send it to: toby.broadfield@comcast.net

Please put in the transaction description the unit you want, what parts and what vehicle it's for. Let me know if you have any more questions.

Thanks,

Toby

How much would the total be for the ida-x305, harness, & dash kit? Is the dash kit basically the lower din? Give me a final total.

Post Title: Re: New! 2009 ALPINE CD Players - I-Pod - XM/Sirius (DoubleURX)
Posted by: Broadfield at 6:58 PM 2/27/2009

You don't have to use a kit. You can simply bolt the Alpine to the OEM radio brackets and utilize the OEM pocket. The kit would only be needed if you didn't have the OEM brackets or you had the OEM double DIN radio.

So the radio and harness would be $274 shipped.

If you need the kit it's another $7.50

Thanks,

Toby

Alpine CDE-9874 Retail $180 Nico Price: $119 Shipped! Price Drop! In Stock!

I'd like that one, but I have a few questions:

-Does it some with the ipod cable?
-Also, does the cable recharge the ipod when the car is on like my current stereo does?
-Is the face detachable?
-What's my grand total?
-If i pay you tmw, when can I expect the stereo to arrive here in SoCal?

Thanks Toby.

Posted by: Broadfield at 1:16 AM 2/28/2009

The 9874 does not include the cable..... it runs $25. The cable will charge the iPod unless it's one of the brand new 3G iPhone/iTouch. The face is detachable. Your total would be $144. UPS does not run on the weekends, so the soonest it would ship out would be Monday. It takes 5 business days to Cali, so you would have it on the next Monday.

Thanks,

Toby

Do these alpine units come with the antenna adapter? Do all Nissans use the same antenna adaptor? Regarding the CDA-105, can the regular ipod cable be used, or is a different one needed and if so is it included? Thanks

No radios on the market come with antenna adapters. But of course I have them for cheap with the purchase of a radio..... like $5. Nissans either use the standard Motorola end that aftermarket radios use or the 2-pin antenna that some older Nissans use. The CDA-105 uses a USB input. It does not come with the cable.... it's optional. However, you can use the standard white iPod cable that would use to hook it up to your computer.

how long befre you have the CDA-9886 back in stock???

and im going to be almost exclusively using an I-Pod, probably not many CD's, would you recommend the 9886 or one of the iDA models, on a side note i am reading that the iDA models dont have preset EQ's, can you tell a difference not having one to choose (rock, country, r&b, pop) thanks man

Post Title: Re: New! 2009 ALPINE CD Players - I-Pod - XM/Sirius (ashibah83)
Posted by: Broadfield at 12:11 PM 3/15/2009

It looks like the 9886's are done. I tried to order some from Alpine but it was a no go.

If you are only going to be using an iPod then there is no question that you would want the iDA-X305. It's not even a comparison as far as iPod control goes. As far as the preset EQ's, they are usually a joke, so you wouldn't be missing anything. You can make your own EQ adjustments anyway.

Thanks,

Toby

Sorry man, I only ship to the USA. It's just too much of a hassle for a small business like me to ship a low cost item out of country. On top of that, UPS is the only shipping company I am set up with. Which means I would have to make special arrangements to go to another shipping facility and take care of it.

Sorry again!

The 105 comes with a USB cable. So you can either use your white Apple/USB cable that came with your iPod, or you can buy a USB-->iPod cable from Alpine that runs $20. For speakers I would recommend the new JL Audio C2's. Very good speaker for the price. This is the replacement for the VR's and is better and cheaper.

You would be looking at $279 shipped for the radio and speakers. Or $299 shipped if you also need the cable.

Thanks,

Toby

I still don't have any in stock for sale. I just got 4 in yesterday and those were all pre-paid for and sold to customers in my store. If you want to guarantee yourself one on the next shipment then you will want to prepay for it. Let me know what you want to do.

I don't know when I will be receiving the next shipment. I can only assume within the next couple weeks. They are back-ordered from Alpine and are slowly shipping to all of the dealers. I have tons on order, but will only receive them as Alpine feels necessary.

What do I need? Do you have it in stock?

You can contact me at dadalefan4ever@aol.com with the information if you want.

If the amplifier you are using has high level inputs then you need nothing. If not, then you would simply need a high/low converter. They run $20 each for a decent one.

Toby, I'm debating on buying a headunit for the truck, looking at the CDA-105. What adaptor would I need for XM and how much is the adaptor? Email me, Thanks!

dsvog1@comcast.net

Do you already have an XM unit that you want to hook up to the Alpine, or do you want an XM that is a direct connect to the Alpine? If you need the direct connect XM tuner then it is $79. That comes with the interface, tuner and antenna.

toby if i send paypal tonight for a 105 and ipod cable, will i be able to get one you have in stock or are they all spoken for? also how much would that be all together?

I officially ran out yesterday morning..... man these things go quick. I had one on hold for Nacho and another Nico member, but the rest I sold in the store yesterday. I will hopefully have more in by the end of next week.

Yes, the 105 has a USB input on the back..... so you can simply use your white cable if you like. I received the payment... Thanks

Pricing Note

Alpine increased my cost on the 105, so unfortunately I had to raise it $20. Anyone who posted on here or emailed me prior to this post will be guaranteed the original price of $149 shipped.

Thanks,

Toby

I've been out of town so I wasn't able to check in here but it seems you don't have anymore in stock. I posted in this thread prior to this post so can I still get it for the original price? Just let me know when you get more in stock, any idea when that might be? thanks!

It will have a slight gap all the way around. You can simply use the trim ring that comes with the Alpine and rear-mount(ISO mount) the radio using the factory brackets. Should look awesome!

I run a very simple setup as I don't care so much about audio in my car..... I'm a through and through gear head.

Alpine iDA-X100 and an Alpine PDX 4.150 bridged down to 2 channels running a set of Hybrid Audio components.

It is 3 business days to AL. So if you pay me Thursday for example, it would ship on Friday. Then it's 3 "business" days..... so Monday, Tuesday then there on Wednesday. If you pay on a Monday it would get there on Friday.

I have a few more items I'd like a price for.

Infinity Basslink - 10" enclosed subwoofer
Infinity Basslink II
(Both the I and II to compare prices...any suggestions on those would be welcomed too)

Alpine SPR-69C Type R 6x9
Alpine SPR 17S Type R 6 1/2 components

If you could give me a quote on each item (sub's for myself, speakers are for a friend) that'd be great! And I'm still interested in the HU once they come in

Well, I don't carry Infinity..... and don't have anything comparable. Everything I carry would be raw subwoofer drivers and amplifiers.

I also don't stock Alpine speakers as I do not like them..... LOVE their head units and their amplifiers are decent. I can special order them, but I wouldn't be able to deal on them as good as something I normally stock. I normally stock the JL Audio TR's and C2's, Boston Acoustic S series and Pro's then Hybrid Audio as my "top of the food chain" line.

Let me know what you think.

It's cake man! I'd sell you the Nissan harness which you match up color for color to the Alpine harness.... then you just plug it in. You will then mount the factory radio brackets to the Alpine and you are basically done.

I just compared the two units on the Alpine website... and I don't see much worth the 70 dollar extra... is there anything major on the 9886 that should make me want to get it instead of the 105?

Otherwise I'll just wait patiently

Not a whole lot really. I would just wait if you want to save the $70. Basically Alpine takes features from a more expensive model and adds those into the cheaper model for the next model year. So the 105 is going to be very similar to the 9886 except the 9886 has 4 volt pre-outs and has the Bio-lite display with blue illumination. Believe it or not the blue illumination is more expensive.

yo toby i didnt get a message! lol
I would like CDA-105, and Clarus 6.5" set depending on price.
Would I need an amp? and im kind of iffy on running rear speakers..for s14

I want a sick budget system....and not looking towards subs at all.....do i even really need an amp.

Post Title: Re: (mrgrape)
Posted by: Broadfield at 12:54 AM 6/17/2009

Sorry man, I only emailed those that emailed me about the 105.

Yeah, 105's are ready to roll..... only a handful left

The Hybrid speakers are an amazing choice! I can do the Clarus for $399 shipped. Note: You will need to sound deaden your doors for these speakers. The front and back waves HAVE to be separated. So I use Dynamat/Roadkill to seal over all the holes in the door. I also like to make a baffle for the speaker to mount to..... usually out of 1/2" wood if you can. Just stiffens up the area where the speaker mounts. You can read the owners manual for a nice description on the "proper" install. This is the most insane owners manual you will EVER see for a set of speakers:

http://www.hybrid-audio.com/Cl...l.pdf

Next, you will absolutely need an amplifier to drive these..... at least 75 watts per channel. Let me know if you need any suggestions on amplifiers. You can check out the amplifiers I have for sale here:

http://forums.nicoclub.com/zerothread/411952

I don't stock all of these, but can have any of them within a week.

Thanks,

Toby

Not sure how much better the JL's would be over the Type R's!?! Probably a little smoother sounding, but otherwise very comparable. You really need an amplifier with any components you do because they are not very efficient given the external x-overs. Dynamat is not necessary, but highly recommended. If you were going to do the Hybrids, then YES, it's a must!

You want the 105 then?

It's pretty expensive to ship to Puerto Rico. You would need to add another $40 to those prices. It's about $50 to ship a 8 pound package there. Where it's only $10 to ship it anywhere in the USA.

Ah... sorry friend fked up, speaker size was actually 5.25 for his fronts, and not 6.5 like he thought Anyways, the question would be... do you have any 5.25 components? lol If so, model / price please!

Thanks Toby!

The 305 is an amazing unit! The double DIN is 3 times the price. So unless you are going to use the features of the double DIN to it's fullest, then it's obviously not worth the money. I include the wiring harness for installing it into the S13. Do you have the factory pocket below your radio now?

broadfield im down for cda-105/Im looking for a component system STOCK in the New BMS's, acuras, TSX, etc/
they have really good stock sound that packs lot of bass.
what do i need for this?

Hybrids, I don't know what else to tell you. You can go with any other brand, but the mid-bass won't be as good as the Hybrids. What is your budget for a set of components? That will help me find a set of speakers in your price range..... otherwise I am just going to keep recommending the Hybrids!

Well, it's pretty rare that we do 5.25" components at the shop, so I don't really stock them. The only ones I stock are the Hybrid Clarus 5.25". However, I can get anything you want from JL, Alpine etc. I would recommend either the Hybrid, obviously, or some form of JL if you are on more of a budget.

1) You would need a car specific harness which I include most of the time.
2) The 404 will fit. Obviously the 404 has more features, but it also costs a lot more than the 305. So it's really up to you and how much you want to spend.

Uhhh, the 9887's are old. They have actually been carried over for a 3rd model year now. I'm not sure if they are even available anymore, but I can check.

Post Title: Re: (Broadfield)
Posted by: homeslicej2 at 6:39 AM 7/25/2009

This 9887? http://www.crutchfield.com/p_5...tereo I didn't realize it was that old of a design. Since it has Imprint built into and the 9886 doesn't, I just assumed it was new as well and was a set up from the 9886.

Post Title: Re: (homeslicej2)
Posted by: Broadfield at 1:15 PM 7/27/2009

Yep, that 9887! That's why Crutchfield is out of stock...... they really are not shipping anymore. I have my salesman calling my Alpine rep. right now to see if they are available at all.

Post Title: Re: (Broadfield)
Posted by: homeslicej2 at 4:19 PM 7/27/2009

ugh...that sucks. The 9887 was about $350 from Crutchfield, but to get the same sound shaping/altering features on the 105 and 9886, you have to buy the $150 adapter With the PXA-H100, the 105 has the same capabilities as the 9887 did correct? Depending on what you find with the 9887 and price, if you can get it, what could you do pricewise on the 105 and the PXA-H100?

Post Title: Re: (homeslicej2)
Posted by: Broadfield at 4:42 PM 7/27/2009

homeslicej2-

Do you have a # I could call you at and discuss your options?...... you can simply email it to me. Because if you want to be able to run the auto-tune feature of the Imprint, which is its main feature, then you need to buy a mic kit that is over $100 for the 9887. However, the mic kit is at most $30 for the H100.

And yes, I can still get the 9887! You would be looking at $339 shipped from me for the unit.

S14's are 6.5's front and rear. You would absolutely need an amplifier to drive the Hybrids.

Nope, I never received it!

The CDA-105 is $169
The Imprint module is $119
The mic kit is $25

Then free shipping on it. You can also call me when you are getting ready to do the auto-tune and I can walk you through some pointers. The directions that come with the software are worthless.

Hybrid has the Clarus C61-2 component set and the Legatia L61-2 component set. Any amplifier I carry will be better than the amplifier in any of those vehicles you have listed. I guess I'm not really sure what you mean by "imitate". An amplifier simply amplifies the signal you put into it.

Hey sir, my s13 came with an aftermarket headunit and i think it was too wide for the hu hole because the trim has a cracked place in it and I was wondering if these would fit into the s13 without any worries of cracking or anything. Also I don't have the 2 brackets that came with the OEM single din stereo and was wondering if you could tell me if one of those universal kits at wally world would work to install a hu. Or if you had any advice on how to correctly install without damaging the trim.
Thanks for the help in advance and sry for the long post.

Post Title: Re: (justinedible4)
Posted by: Broadfield at 11:19 PM 8/18/2009

Do you have any pictures of the trim. There is no way the head unit would crack the trim unless it was installed really wrong. So with that being said, no, the Alpine head units will not cause your trim to crack. Also, I would simply recommend buying the OEM radio brackets. They won't really cost more than the kit and the kits are real cheesy anyway.

For new stuff that Nissan doesn't make anymore, yeah, that's a decent deal. You can also find people in the classified section (try complete partouts and also interior) who will sell you their used pocket with the brackets for $10-25 + shipping. Sorry it took so long to post, but I got the radio in Monday afternoon and had it installed a couple of hours later (couldn't remember/find where my pioneer "keys" were to pull the old HU out). The HU looks great, sounds awesome, and since it's all black, matches my wife's interior perfectly (the old pioneer was silver). Thanks for the great price and fast shipping Toby

Actually I don't carry the 303. It pales in comparison to the 305 as far as the ease of iPod control. The whole point to the original Alpine iPod radio was the fact that it displayed multiple lines of info like the iPod. Then they came out with their cheaper line of iPod radios which only had one or two lines of info. The successor to those is the 303. The 303 also doesn't display the multiple lines..... which pretty much makes it like one of the regular Alpine CD players. So really the only advantage it has over the standard CD players is that the volume/control knob is bigger. I can special order it if you want though. The package would run $289 shipped.

Going in a single cab pickup, So I will only need to amp the components, Still trying to decide what size sub and how many I am going to put in. I think one will be plenty.

If one amp was enough to run the components and sub(s), I would be okay with that. Not looking to spend a fortune on the components but I want a decent set. The last two sets I had were the Rockford fosgate top of the line 6.5 and I also had the boston 4-6-tweet that I also really liked. The bostons are probably out of my price range at the moment, I'd likely be looking in the 200-300 range for speakers and am open to suggestions on the amp.

Sounds good! I will work up a quote when I get home tonight. I am probably leaning towards some JL Audio C2 components for the price range you gave me. I would recommend a 4 channel amplifier that will power the components and the sub. You can find the prices on those here:

http://forums.nicoclub.com/zerothread/411952

Let me know if you have any questions on the amplifiers. You should be able to find something in your price range.... whatever that may be.

My car got broken into and they stole my stereo along with the oem mounting bracket and pocket. Do you sell any mounting hardware?

Hey broadfield, quick question. I just got a cda-x200( I know they just came out with newer ones but I don't really like them and I got this for 100 bucks new). I know you used to have the same one but with the color ipod screen. One problem I'm having is when I turn my car off, my ipod doesn't turn off(I'm using the alpine ipod cord, not usb). Did yours do this or is there a way I can fix it? I'm tired of it draining my battery on my ipod. Also, I know your supposed to get the 6 disc cd changer since this thing doesn't have cd, but what if I bought an external cd drive and plugged that into the usb? would that work? I work at best buy so I can get one for like 15 bucks and that beats 150+ for the cd changer

I do not carry the OEM mounting brackets. You would want to get those from Courtesy Nissan.

That panel below my old radio was something I made to cover up my Defi gauge controller and HUD controller. It was a simple removable pressure fit panel.

Sounds like you may have a bad radio.... I've never seen one do that. But you want to use the USB with iPod adapter.... that may be your problem. What iPod are you using? The hard drive should work, but not near as smooth as an iPod. If the hard drive doesn't work simply take it back. That's what you got to love about Best Buy.... 30 day return policy.

I'm using a 1st gen touch. and you think the usb will work better than the alpine cord specifically for the ipod? could my cord just be bad?

So do you know if the external cd drive would work with the usb to supplement the no cd player issue?

Post Title: Re: New! 2009 ALPINE CD Players - I-Pod - XM/Sirius (Hoffman5982)

The USB is faster than the iPod cable anyway. The iPod intput(blue ended cable) would actually be used for a blue tooth module. I have never used anything BUT the USB on an Alpine that has USB. And that encompasses a lot of installs!

I'm sorry, I misunderstood you on the external drive. I thought you were talking about an external hard drive, not CD drive. The CD drive will not work.... an external hard drive should though.
