Going to build my personal vert since the company (Raw Brokerage) doesn't have the budget this year to build a car.
So building this at home and looking to make an ultimate street car/daily driver that can be at home on the track if it pleases.
enjoy
The journey begins...

Everything nice and straight...

Cleaned the interior area up

Radiator support removal
more spot welds

Support off

removal of random engine bay brackets
Setting up the a template for measurements for new fender wells...
Dropped the subframe
Thanks to a lovely NICO write up, the shell is now on a chassis cart built from supplies picked up from Lowes

Starting to cut the front fenders out.
For the motor it has to be a RB :D

Factory ITB manifold assembly

External oil drain from the head to the sump, -12AN return
And you thought your girlfriend was complicated.

Installed some goodies on the motor... HKS Timing belt and Cam Gears
So finally got the rims that will be going on the vert...
So the 255 needed a bit of stretching, hope everyone approves
more cutting. took it to the chassis rail.

Forgot to take a shot with the tower cut out but here is everything coming together to make templates and such for the new body...

I'm considering using 2 of the following 3 options:
1) High Density Chassis Foam
2) Stitch weld the seams
3) Roll cage the rear with low door bars to the front
There will be various braces I'll fab up for the corners and nicks.

The foam works wonders.. my friend has a 700hp 1jz in his coupe and he put the foam in frame rails.. its good stuff..
Im glad you already have considered stuff.. you didnt say anything, i was wondernig there for a bit.

I think it depends on what color the car is gonna be.If its gonna be a more darker color or if your going to paint the bay black then i say keep the Chrome covers.
Also from the looks of it you still have the red valve covers on.Have you thought about maybe a combination of both.Leave it just like it is maybe, with the red valve covers and the chrome front and middle peice, that would be diffrent. Its hard to tell what it looks like from the picture.

If you def. decide to go with a light grey then i would def keep the red covers, grey and chrome are to close of a color to really make the engine stand out.

It's the largest rail that I'm aware of. Custom made by the good ol' boys down under. Can run -12AN lines straight through.

thats a good idea. white will get too dirty quickly, and dust shows up on black easily. plus if any fluid starts leaking you can easily identify what it is against a light gray bay |
thats the reasoning behind that decision. Functional form.

War Machine = Not hard park (baller style KF"s) not saying i don't like them but I think the S1's make more of a functional "looking" wheel than the others which tend to be a "form-looking" wheel... if i make sense at all, oh well

Lining up the door (if becomes troublesome) is better than dealing with a 100lbs+ door and chopping off the excess.
The whole car is going under body work so doors would be coming on and off regardless.

Whoa there Tom. Lets see if I can sort and answer your post, I guess I'll go in the order which they were presented.
Not answering your calls, I never recall wanted to avoid customers and those who bring business (wouldn't that be totally opposite than what we want?).
I personally respond to all left messages and especially those left for me. I forward the phones to my cell phone even during off hours to offer customer support when available. But to expect a live body to answer calls throughout the night is not cost efficient and/or logical as my job does not have me centered around starring at a phone all day. Calling back every number that ends up on a missed call log falls in the same category. If there is a legitimate voice message left than it's replied to in a timely manner just like emails.
The mentioning of you calling and leaving these messages are new to me and perhaps you are calling some wrong number?
Gizmonismo (Angel), I speak to pretty frequently, and he has done business with Raw Brokerage more than once. And to say that I've been talking negative of you is just incorrect and plainly poor business in which I do not conduct or take part in.
I'm always welcoming new and returning customers and thus have no reason to want to avoid any of the mentioned.
I do run a business and many have and continue to support what services are offered through us.
If there is an issue with me or the company I represent than please free to contact me through other mean that seem to have worked for everyone else either that be email or via AIM (since for some reason I don't get your calls). If you ask around, I'm perhaps one of the only people that has offer customer support through Email and via AIM throughout all hours and all week even on Sunday.
I proudly support NICO and it's members and have been doing some time and actually laugh at it's questioning.
I have nothing against you Tom and don't intend there to be anything wrong between us either. Lets talk and see where our miscommunication lays, in which we will work to correct.
Thanks

HAHA, well the latest update is that I'm putting the vert on the back burner and now giving the coupe a run, reasoning for the wheels.
Brake booster went bad on the coupe which I daily drive so pretty much no brakes and blown struts = time to upgrade everything.
But been SUPERman busy, putting out fires and saving RB's from the clutches of death!

But I see some other parts on site, maybe when funds aren't tight I'll pick the up.Ricky that ARC metal coil pack cover, is that the only one you guys carry, dont have HKS or Tomei?
And Rb26 stock fuel rail do you know what size bore injector it is, and its the same as Rb20 (10.5mm)? Think I have Injectors with 11mm bore, so I would need after marker rail.

Sweet thanks. I'll be processing orders tomorrow so I'll check it out.
Thinking about getting some Raw Brokerage coil pack covers made for the 20 and 25. 26 guys will get center plate stickers
If sales were funding this build it'll be running a stock KA and 15x6 wheels... no bueno
For the fuel rail, the RB26 factory rail is 10.5mm. After market 11mm injectors will need a 11mm rail such as the Greddy, HKS, Tomei. Which I can get any of those. Let me know.

Hey Matt! Had the coupe as a canidate but knowing me and the direction of the build I know it will go exactly the SAME route as your car. And I would hate for it to be mistaken as the uglier ducklen of the 2.

Was at HIN Chicago this past Saturday. Seen the drift competition, was in the pit area with some buddies. Now I'm hooked on it like crack. Think I'm going to start looking for a shell and try and build a drift $lut. Is the car going to be dynoed, engine work, chassis work? Is this vehicle in its final stages, or just starting from scratch on hatch? P.S. I like the Raw Brokerage Tee, I'm thinking about getting one |
Yea, I never got personally hooked but I enjoy it plenty.
Car is starting from scratch since it was originally a daily driver type car.
Phase 1 (current) - chassis prep. Going to cage the rear in along with door bars. Get it stripped out for the most part. Engine bay will be cleared from unused junk. Order in the body panels, and prep for paint. Heat protection.
I now have a RB26 Head here for the RB30 Block. Don't know if I will be switching power plants from the built 26, we'll see.
But the whole nine will go afterwards. Engine, Dyno, track. Hopefully, thats the plan
Don't know if you jumped on the new Twitter account... http://twitter.com/rawbrokerage but gonna have a new shirt design up on there soon.
But will still have the "1 Reason" shirts available.
By the way, Greddy discontinued those covers
shoot me an email on what you want me to do.

race... Got me energized to go work on the car some more on Sunday so went got some dry ice to start on the sound dampering removal process. And for some reason it seems as if dry ice was non-exsistent as it was replaced with something else or it was a naughty word. Everywhere I thought I can just casually get it looked at me as if I was going to be making a bomb, hahaha.
Anyways...
After...
But after getting the ice down on the car, I noticed a USB cable on the floor saw some glass... and then saw this...
Unlucky for me they broke the quarter window glass, what a PITA. But luckly, they were just crackheads and looking for quick money... stealing the radio and breaking anything to find change and money. Totally leaving the AVCR, SAFC, turbo timer, Gauges, ECU, etc.
No worries... some additional theift provention will be installed shortly
Motor has some changes, but I'll wait to update on that later on. :/
