I am a new proud owner of a 2009 LE Deep Sapphire Murano.
Beidge interior
Nav
Dual moon roof
Illumanited plate
Love the music box feature!
I am hoping to find out if there is any way to update the map onto the navigation system. It is so strange that the system could not find my home address.
A home built in 1999... I had Garmin Street Pilot in 2004 and upgraded to a Nuvi 660 since 2007. Both units could locate my address with no problem.

I've added a JWT popcharger intake and Gibson exhaust and will probably add an aftermarket front spoiler (ings or nismo), my '07 350Z 18" wheels, front tint, and whatever else I can find.
Would add a picture if I could figure out how.

According to the salesman, BOSE does not work with a dvd player. They said that it could not be install. Is this true?? Pls help as the car will be out in couple of weeks. |
Welcome to NICOclub! Glad to have you here in the Murano Forum!
Are you looking to have the factory DVD player installed, or an aftermarket one?

Well it doesnt matter to me...as long as my kids can watch dvd in the car. But is best to have the factory DVD player installed so that my warranty will not be void.

WOW! I just went to Nissan Singapore's website, that is crazy, I had no idea they actually made a Murano with a 2.5 in it! All of ours in the U.S. are the 3.5, there has NEVER been a Murano in the U.S. with a 2.5. We have the all new model as an '09, I don't see the new model on Singapore's website.
Back to your question, I know you can have an aftermarket DVD player installed. There are many different options, you could have it be a flip down screen, or mount them in the back of the headrests. Obviously the DVD player would not be covered under Nissan's warranty, but it will not affect any other part of your warranty.

That new Teano looks pretty nice. Looks kind of like our Altima here. The X-Trail is nice for a small SUV, we have the Rogue here.

Congrats on the new purchase! There really is no way to get the OEM Nav system added to your Murano. I am sure it can be done, but it would be extremely expensive. Your best bet is to visit a car audio specialist, and have them show you what options would work best in your new ride. I am sure you could find a nice touch screen Nav/Stereo combo that could be mounted in your Murano, but that is what I would suggest. Let us know what you decide to do, would love to see the finished product!

| Lovin our new 09 LE. Picked it up Tuesday before Thanksgiving. Just returned from a 1800 mile trip to the Smokys. Glad I found you guys and really glad to see Bishop's explanation of the burning smell being caused by the exhaust system burning the undercoating. My experience--no smell as long as I'm going at least 40+ MPH. But after I crept up mountain roads at 10 - 15 (or slower) mph then stopped, I could really smell it. I'm guessing that at faster speeds the circulation keeps the undercoating from heating up smelling. In just two days I've learned a lot from you guys. thanks |
Happy New Year and welcome to NICOclub! Glad to have you as a member of the Murano Forum! Congrats on the new Murano LE, I know you will love your new ride!

2nd Mo I've owned. Had to give up on the 05 AWD.
.
Being a old Mo owner, I've gotten used to the quality ride and poor weather performance.. I like the upgrades in the interior, stereo, and the back up camera..
Hope the oil smell goes away, not as heavy as miles build..
Looking forward to summer, so I can have the top open.

| Hello from down under ! I am considering a 2009 Murano as a replacement for my Mazda 6 but here in Australia we are not offered the 20" wheels or the sunroof/DVD player option.............very mean of Nissan I think ! |
Goodaye mate!!!! LOL, sorry, just had to do it! It is awesome having a member of the Murano Forum from "down unda"!!!! Here in the U.S., you can either get the dual panel roof, or the DVD option, but if you get Navigation, you can add a DVD player to your center console, and with a rather simple modification, watch your DVD on your front Nav screen! They probably don't offer the 20's by you because I have read that the roads can be rather rough in Australia, which would take away from the smooth ride of the Murano. Anyway, glad to have you here mate!

So far, we're quite pleased with the Murano, it's very comfortable, has all the bells and whistles that Lexus had, plus several that they still don't offer. The handling and fuel mileage have been superb - especially for a new vehicle delivered with only 23 miles on it. We took an intial road trip, about 400 plus miles over two mountain passes (North Cascades 4700+ft and 5477 ft respectively), on the trip East we averaged right at 23.9 and on the return got 24.8 which is impressive for a car not broken in as yet. Time will tell if we made the right decision.

| New to Forum, but have been reading and learning here for the last month. We had the Murano on our short list, and after driving several SUV's, opted for a 2009 LE in Brilliant Silver. Traded in our 05 RX330, which has been a great vehicle, reliable, comfortable and easy to drive - but bloody expensive to maintain through Lexus - even though we got hand wash and dry, and chocolates for the Lady. Still $150 oil changes ain't cheap!!! So far, we're quite pleased with the Murano, it's very comfortable, has all the bells and whistles that Lexus had, plus several that they still don't offer. | G'day Guys, i'm Yong from Malaysia. Extremely happy to find a forum to discuss my in coming Nissan Murano. Home minister was looking to upgrade her Toyota Vios E. Was looking for Toyota Harrier 2,400cc. However, while viewing the Toyota Harrier, there was a Murano 4WD year 2005, 2,500cc next to the Toyota Harrier. First look, wonderful compare to Toyota Harrier. Paid the booking fees and test drive. Found out that the suspensions were very stiff vide run into a pole hole of about 3 inches deep. Question 1 : Are Murano's suspensions stiffer than Toyota Harrier? Question 2 : What is Murano's suspension part number? thought of chaning them. Other than this concern, no others issue. Wonderful Murano!!!!!!!!! |
WOW! All the way from Malaysia!!!! Warmest welcomes from the staff here at NICOclub! Glad to have you here in the Murano Forum.
Sorry I can't help you out, but the Murano's suspension seems to be one of it's selling points. I have no idea what a Toyota Harrier is, we do not have that in the states. Also, all of our Murano's are built with the 3.5 instead of the 2.5 engine. The 2.5 engine is a good engine though. Sorry I could not help you more!

As far as I know Toyota Harrier is the Asian market of our Lexus RX330 here in US. Some features of Lexus of course is not available to Toyota, although they're sister company.
Also, our Lexus GX is the Toyota Prado in Asia.
Stevyong, is your Murano there in Malaysia the 1st generation or the 2nd one. 2nd generation suspension is refined or tuned while 1st generation is more sporty in handling, so I'd say it's more stiffer.

| Hi Folks, just joined this forum, although I've been driving Nissan products since 97, I haven't been this excited about picking up a car. I get my new (55km on it) 09 Murano SL Sept. 30th. (company lease). I've been on a few other Maxima forums over the years and have always tried to contribute, as I have found an abundant of information and wonderful people willing to share their stories and help a fellow with a question. I'm from Barrie Ontario, Canada. Just north of Toronto, I drive down to Toronto most days. (about 100Km each way). Although I've always modified my cars in the past (including the leased ones), I'll keep this one to a minimum. K&N filter to start and possibly a CAI later on, depending. Will be looking for tips on getting the best mileage from the 09. Time to start looking thru all the topics. Hope to chat with you soon. Gary |
Welcome to the Murano Forum Gary!!!! Glad to have you as a new member of NICOclub!!! Congrats on the soon to be purchase, you will love your new ride!!! I reccommend the K&N filter, I have then in both of my current Nissan's and have had them in all previous Nissan/Infiniti vehicles I have owned. Again, welcome aboard!

Performance and looks are key to me. So check me out in the next few months to see what I'm plugging away on. First matter of business - I'm trying to track down a Murano Projector/Halo Headlight kit. I've spent about 2 hours scouring the web. Nada?! There's heaps of kits for almost every model but Murano.
Hopefully I can find one that is HID compatible. HELP pls!!

I am new to this communicty. I bought 2009 Murano S for my wife about 1 month ago. We are very pleased with the car so far with 1200 miles on clock. I hav already done a 600 mil oil/filter change (Yes, I know it is overkill, but I just have to do it). I have owned many cars and been a DIY guy. It is hard to keep up with those electronical gadgets. I still have a couple of 8 track tapes along with records nd cassette tapes sitting in garage. I installed stainless step bar I purchased on eBay and amnow waiting for a Factory OEM fog light kit. I want also to install a backup camera. Well everyone, have a nice Murano life!

Overkill?? Yikes, I'd say. 6900 miles early.

It's Chardonnay with the Touring Package and sunroof, 35k miles. Cafe latte interior. Nearly perfect exterior. I need to add window vent shields since I usually like to leave my windows cracked and I don't think that will work with the leather interior.
It was also missing the cargo net and carpet floor mats so I will probably hunt those down as well. I had my heart set on a Lexus RX330/350/or the hybrid 404h but after reasearching the Murano and driving a few, I just couldn't justify spending the extra $6k-$8k.
I'm looking forward to driving my new ride!

Always liked the Murano and everyone I asked loved them or knew someone who loved them. I'm excited about having one, but the amount of road noise surprised me. The noise is not bad compared to the Sierra it replaced, but it is louder than I thought.
I have been looking into accessories for the Murano and I don't find many. Something like.... better aftermarket stabilizers, or maybe some cool spoiler would be nice. I know the Murano is not your typical project car, it doesn't hurt to dress her up a bit or maybe give her some better performance.

My name is Bob. My wife and I just got a 2009 Murano SL AWD in tinted bronze. We really like the car. This is our first Nissan.
