Hi

I am a new proud owner of a 2009 LE Deep Sapphire Murano.

Beidge interior
Nav
Dual moon roof
Illumanited plate

Love the music box feature!

I am hoping to find out if there is any way to update the map onto the navigation system. It is so strange that the system could not find my home address. A home built in 1999... I had Garmin Street Pilot in 2004 and upgraded to a Nuvi 660 since 2007. Both units could locate my address with no problem.

We bought a '07 GLacier Pearl SL AWD w/ leather, sunroof in November '07 and love it.

I've added a JWT popcharger intake and Gibson exhaust and will probably add an aftermarket front spoiler (ings or nismo), my '07 350Z 18" wheels, front tint, and whatever else I can find.

Would add a picture if I could figure out how.

Hi Timm, thanks for the welcome! I have a 2006 murano SL and have been having issues with it "using" antifreeze. No puddles so no leaks, does not run hot, and dealer preassure tested it and can find nothing wrong with it. I was wondering if this is something someone else has run into? I hate to think I have a cracked block. I love the car and have owned nissans in the past. Help!

Wow, that sounds strange. Give us an example of how much you have to add after not adding fluid for what length of time. I have never heard of that, very strange indeed!

Hi all, I'm Louw from South Africa. I recently bought a 2006 Murano 4x4 version. I generally enjoy diving, and would like to try it out on the beach. I have not seen a Murano on sand yet. Has anyone tried it? If so, how did it perform - basic stuff; not running up dunes & stuff?

Welcome to NICOclub! Glad to have you as a valued member in the Murano Forum!

We don't have enough beaches here in the Midwest to ride any sand dunes, so I can't give you an answer on that one. Give it a shot and be sure to let us all know how the Murano fairs!

Are you looking to have the factory DVD player installed, or an aftermarket one?

Well it doesnt matter to me...as long as my kids can watch dvd in the car. But is best to have the factory DVD player installed so that my warranty will not be void.

Post Title: Re: Welcome Murano Owners! (allyuwc)
Posted by: Timmbo at 8:34 AM 10/22/2008

You certainly can have any aftermarket DVD player installed, there is no problem with that, do you have the Dual Panel Moonroof? Are you sure you have an '08 Murano? In the U.S. there was an '07, then '09, they skipped the '08 model, the '09 is all new.

Post Title: Re: Welcome Murano Owners! (Timmbo)
Posted by: allyuwc at 6:35 PM 10/22/2008

It is Murano 250XL..And it comes with electric sunroof. I have confirmed with Nissan Sg that it is 08. We do not have Murano 250 '09 model. They only carry 350 '09. Well i guess diff countries have diff specs.

Post Title: Re: Welcome Murano Owners! (allyuwc)
Posted by: Timmbo at 7:07 AM 10/23/2008

Wow! What is a 250xl model? Does that have a 2.5L engine?

WOW! I just went to Nissan Singapore's website, that is crazy, I had no idea they actually made a Murano with a 2.5 in it! All of ours in the U.S. are the 3.5, there has NEVER been a Murano in the U.S. with a 2.5. We have the all new model as an '09, I don't see the new model on Singapore's website.

Back to your question, I know you can have an aftermarket DVD player installed. There are many different options, you could have it be a flip down screen, or mount them in the back of the headrests. Obviously the DVD player would not be covered under Nissan's warranty, but it will not affect any other part of your warranty.

Post Title: Re: Welcome Murano Owners! (Timmbo)
Posted by: allyuwc at 11:12 PM 10/23/2008

Yes, it has 2.5l engine. Well in Sg having a big is not common. It's a small country. Cars here are very expensive. 2.5l '08 cost abt USD72K.

Thanks again. I will makesure the salesman fix the dvd...hehe

Will keep you update when my new car arrive..

That new Teano looks pretty nice. Looks kind of like our Altima here. The X-Trail is nice for a small SUV, we have the Rogue here.

Hi everyone,

I just bought a 2007 Murano S AWD today. It is awsome! A great improvement from my little dodge Neon. The only thing I really want to do is get a better sound system and gps on my center counsel. I am not technically smart with that stuff. can I upgrade the sound system and get the GPS? thank for the help. I cant wait to get this beast out on the open road for a road trip!

Welcome to NICOclub! We are thrilled to have you here in the Murano Forum!

Congrats on the new purchase! There really is no way to get the OEM Nav system added to your Murano. I am sure it can be done, but it would be extremely expensive. Your best bet is to visit a car audio specialist, and have them show you what options would work best in your new ride. I am sure you could find a nice touch screen Nav/Stereo combo that could be mounted in your Murano, but that is what I would suggest. Let us know what you decide to do, would love to see the finished product!

Hi,
Mine is a silver grey with black interior AWD. Still getting used to the outside look but I am amazed at the interior. Couldn't be more luxurious. I am still getting around the board, many posts to read to catch up but wanted to say hello. One good post I read was about the quick spin on volume button while pressing setting button. Lets you right into various diagnosis mode. Great post! Anyone else have a neat trick list of Murano extras?
Cheers.

hello fellow murano owners, really proud to have a crossover that is the mother and the pioneer of all crossovers... my ride, silica (gold) with a 2.5 liter engine (QR25DE) JDM Model, 2WD (FWD), by the way, does anyone here have a murano 2.5 litre (1st Generation)? particularly, singapore owners... would love to ask them a few questions...(to be exact, i need an english owners manual as i can't read the japanese one found in my ride!!!)

hi there, would love to compare my murano and yours... by the way, i'm from malaysia and own the 1st generation murano... it's a grey import version from japan designated to be a JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) model only... that's why i need help to look for fellow owners particularly from singapore as they have almost the similar version as ours, the 2.5 litre 2WD one...

yeah, it's torquey and i like it's cruising engine speed (overdrive) as it revs around 2500 rpm at 120 kmh... fuel consumption is very good for a suv this heavy, could get 12 km to the liter... was searching for some engine upgrades like a supercharger as i heard this QR25DE engine is a favorite among Sentra enthusiasts

Lovin our new 09 LE. Picked it up Tuesday before Thanksgiving. Just returned from a 1800 mile trip to the Smokys. Glad I found you guys and really glad to see Bishop's explanation of the burning smell being caused by the exhaust system burning the undercoating. My experience--no smell as long as I'm going at least 40+ MPH. But after I crept up mountain roads at 10 - 15 (or slower) mph then stopped, I could really smell it. I'm guessing that at faster speeds the circulation keeps the undercoating from heating up smelling.
In just two days I've learned a lot from you guys. thanks

Took delivery of a 09 AWD LE Merlot on the 21st of Jan.

2nd Mo I've owned. Had to give up on the 05 AWD. .

Being a old Mo owner, I've gotten used to the quality ride and poor weather performance.. I like the upgrades in the interior, stereo, and the back up camera..

Hope the oil smell goes away, not as heavy as miles build..

Looking forward to summer, so I can have the top open.

Onward thru the fog

Goodaye mate!!!! LOL, sorry, just had to do it! It is awesome having a member of the Murano Forum from "down unda"!!!! Here in the U.S., you can either get the dual panel roof, or the DVD option, but if you get Navigation, you can add a DVD player to your center console, and with a rather simple modification, watch your DVD on your front Nav screen! They probably don't offer the 20's by you because I have read that the roads can be rather rough in Australia, which would take away from the smooth ride of the Murano. Anyway, glad to have you here mate!

HI all. New here with a SL 2007 Murano in Pearl White. Love the car. Had a VW Touareg before that I liked, but, too many electrical issues. Felt really heavy and AWD. Got the Murano because of the better fuel economy and much more reliable.

Hello All,
I am Matthew, I live in Austin Texas. I own a 2005 Nissan Murano S. My only mods to date include OEM replacement K&N filter and a FlowMaster in place of the rear muffler (the "must do" mods for ANY vehicle ). I am debating on also replacing the middle muffler with another FlowMaster, and eventually looking into some engine mods. I look forward to and thank you all for all of the great information that I may come across here!!! I hope I can share some knowledge along the way!!
Thank you

Welcome to NICOclub! Glad to have you here in the Murano Forum. I have to hand it to you, those are some nice mods for a Murano. How does the new exhaust sound?

Thank You!! I think it sounds great, like this clip (not mine, but the very same muffler that is on mine)

Realistically, I am thinking that the suspension is next on the list, maybe a tad bit lower and a lot stiffer

Thanks

I have a 2005 Silver Murano SL AWD. Love it. Bought with 35K on it in Feb and have 40K now and it is performing better than I expected. Replaced the cabin filter myself with a FRAM filter from Amazon. It took about 5 minutes max and is very easy to do. Instructions are in the box and it cost about $13. If you buy two you get free shipping(>$25 total).

Hello from the northwest corner of the great state of Washington!

Beautiful day here, and a perfect day to put a 2009 Murano in the garage. It's a Platinum Graphite S AWD with the convenience package and floor mats and splash guards. I think that's all.

The Murano will get to sleep next to a 2007 350Z. I think they'll get along fine.

Thanks for the forum!

Hi all from down under Australia, just picked up my brand spankin new Tinted Bronze Murano Ti, with all the bells and whistles, must say a new driving experience for me, but after a couple of hours behind the wheel I love it. Interesting to read about all the different varients of MO's around the world. Had been reading this forum for a couple of weeks before I brought one and I must say that the positive feedback convinced me I was making the right decision.

New to Forum, but have been reading and learning here for the last month. We had the Murano on our short list, and after driving several SUV's, opted for a 2009 LE in Brilliant Silver. Traded in our 05 RX330, which has been a great vehicle, reliable, comfortable and easy to drive - but bloody expensive to maintain through Lexus - even though we got hand wash and dry, and chocolates for the Lady. Still $150 oil changes ain't cheap!!!

So far, we're quite pleased with the Murano, it's very comfortable, has all the bells and whistles that Lexus had, plus several that they still don't offer. The handling and fuel mileage have been superb - especially for a new vehicle delivered with only 23 miles on it. We took an intial road trip, about 400 plus miles over two mountain passes (North Cascades 4700+ft and 5477 ft respectively), on the trip East we averaged right at 23.9 and on the return got 24.8 which is impressive for a car not broken in as yet. Time will tell if we made the right decision.

New to the forum. Have been driving a 07 Murano SE AWD since November 2006. Just today traded for an 09 Murano LE AWD. Couldn't break myself of my affinity for Merlot...

New buyer remorse...should I have waited for the 2010s?

Post Title: Re: Welcome Murano Owners! (greatwhitenorth)

I don't think anyone has a final list of upcoming changes for the 2010 model. They may be very minor and not anything that you would miss. I imagine that Nissan will change some of the packages around since the iPod interface is a highly sought after feature. Package changes won't affect LE owners for the most part since that is the top baseline trim already.

G'day Guys, i'm Yong from Malaysia. Extremely happy to find a forum to discuss my in coming Nissan Murano. Home minister was looking to upgrade her Toyota Vios E. Was looking for Toyota Harrier 2,400cc. However, while viewing the Toyota Harrier, there was a Murano 4WD year 2005, 2,500cc next to the Toyota Harrier. First look, wonderful compare to Toyota Harrier. Paid the booking fees and test drive. Found out that the suspensions were very stiff vide run into a pole hole of about 3 inches deep.
Question 1 : Are Murano's suspensions stiffer than Toyota Harrier?
Question 2 : What is Murano's suspension part number? thought of chaning them.
Other than this concern, no others issue.
Wonderful Murano!!!!!!!!!

WOW! All the way from Malaysia!!!! Warmest welcomes from the staff here at NICOclub! Glad to have you here in the Murano Forum.

Sorry I can't help you out, but the Murano's suspension seems to be one of it's selling points. I have no idea what a Toyota Harrier is, we do not have that in the states. Also, all of our Murano's are built with the 3.5 instead of the 2.5 engine. The 2.5 engine is a good engine though. Sorry I could not help you more!

There's no Lexus brand in Asia I guess, unless imported.

As far as I know Toyota Harrier is the Asian market of our Lexus RX330 here in US. Some features of Lexus of course is not available to Toyota, although they're sister company.

Also, our Lexus GX is the Toyota Prado in Asia.

Stevyong, is your Murano there in Malaysia the 1st generation or the 2nd one. 2nd generation suspension is refined or tuned while 1st generation is more sporty in handling, so I'd say it's more stiffer.

I own a Nissan Murano for past 17 months, love most features, only fault is the quality of the suspension, have had to change wheel bearings and stabilizer bar rubbers, and still hear knocking from below, good mileage out of town, noted that my rear view screen has gone from colour to black and white, someone suggested it might be because of my add of an alarm system, FM modulator and IPOD connnection, any second opinion why i have lost the colour to screen

Hi Folks, just joined this forum, although I've been driving Nissan products since 97, I haven't been this excited about picking up a car. I get my new (55km on it) 09 Murano SL Sept. 30th. (company lease).
I've been on a few other Maxima forums over the years and have always tried to contribute, as I have found an abundant of information and wonderful people willing to share their stories and help a fellow with a question.
I'm from Barrie Ontario, Canada. Just north of Toronto, I drive down to Toronto most days. (about 100Km each way).
Although I've always modified my cars in the past (including the leased ones), I'll keep this one to a minimum. K&N filter to start and possibly a CAI later on, depending.
Will be looking for tips on getting the best mileage from the 09.
Time to start looking thru all the topics.
Hope to chat with you soon.

Gary

What's up Murano Land? Thought I'd drop a line to introduce myself. I picked up a 07 Murano S last fall. She's treated me awesome so far. Pretty stock, but that's about to change. I have tons of mods in mind, starting with headlight up grade, stereo, tires, rims, brakes, billet grille, a bit more window tint, cold air intake.......etc.

Performance and looks are key to me. So check me out in the next few months to see what I'm plugging away on. First matter of business - I'm trying to track down a Murano Projector/Halo Headlight kit. I've spent about 2 hours scouring the web. Nada?! There's heaps of kits for almost every model but Murano. Hopefully I can find one that is HID compatible. HELP pls!!

Hi all,

I am new to this communicty. I bought 2009 Murano S for my wife about 1 month ago. We are very pleased with the car so far with 1200 miles on clock. I hav already done a 600 mil oil/filter change (Yes, I know it is overkill, but I just have to do it). I have owned many cars and been a DIY guy. It is hard to keep up with those electronical gadgets. I still have a couple of 8 track tapes along with records nd cassette tapes sitting in garage. I installed stainless step bar I purchased on eBay and amnow waiting for a Factory OEM fog light kit. I want also to install a backup camera. Well everyone, have a nice Murano life!

Hello to everyone. I just purchased a 2006 Murano SL AWD yesterday. It's Chardonnay with the Touring Package and sunroof, 35k miles. Cafe latte interior. Nearly perfect exterior. I need to add window vent shields since I usually like to leave my windows cracked and I don't think that will work with the leather interior. It was also missing the cargo net and carpet floor mats so I will probably hunt those down as well.

I had my heart set on a Lexus RX330/350/or the hybrid 404h but after reasearching the Murano and driving a few, I just couldn't justify spending the extra $6k-$8k.

I'm looking forward to driving my new ride!

Otang76 here, and I just got my Nissan Certified, barely used 2007 Murano S @ 14,400 miles.

Always liked the Murano and everyone I asked loved them or knew someone who loved them. I'm excited about having one, but the amount of road noise surprised me. The noise is not bad compared to the Sierra it replaced, but it is louder than I thought.

I have been looking into accessories for the Murano and I don't find many. Something like.... better aftermarket stabilizers, or maybe some cool spoiler would be nice. I know the Murano is not your typical project car, it doesn't hurt to dress her up a bit or maybe give her some better performance.
