Alright, I'm going to write this using cliff notes....-school has dance this Saturday-too many rules, seniors can't drive, parents have to fill out forms, no one is going-person at school makes facebook group to plan a huge dance for our school in NYC with no rules-people suggest White Plains (city nearest our school)-people suggest clubs-people suggest renting out gyms etc-liability is an issue, everyone under 21, people will come drunk

Basically my question is....does nico have any suggestions on where we could hold a dance for over 700 kids? Any ideas on renting places etc?

Not going to happen.

You said it yourself, "liability is an issue".

For anyone who lives in lower NY, there are a lot of huge "mansions" that people use for events (our prom for example) that we could rent out but idk.

OHHHHH, well in that case

No one is going to rent out a huge space for under age kids to party in with no supervision.

Or at least no place that anyone can recommend. The ONLY way this could ever happen is if it was basically a house party and someone (or their parents) was "cool" enough to allow it.No one who does it as a business, or does it for strangers is going to be willing.

You should arm everyone with guns and take over some joint. Who's gonna stop 700 kids with guns?

This sounds like a plot for a really horrible Disney movie. School has dance, dance sucks, kids organize new dance, lots of extremely bad music and dancing ensues.

Perhaps they could break out into dance during a town hall meeting?

It could be worse...

They could dance hard with spontaneous gymnastics in an abandoned warehouse while drinking an smoking to express their angst against the overly constrictive rules of their parents and local government.

Nala, I would suggest consulting Kevin Bacon. He is an expert in such situations.

You know, nala's threads usually just turn into a flame fest...

But I think this one has been fairly successful so far. Lots of good suggestions in here.

you know, when i was a senior, my classmates and i never even thought about doing something like this. probably because we knew it'd never work. then again, parents love me so there were plenty who would let me come over on a weekend, get drunk with them, then crash in their daughters' beds

LOL.

I remember when I was senior in college and all the freshman tried to pull this off...they actually found an old warehouse and got it all set up...

20 min after the party started the Philly police surrounded the building.

Nala, go to bed early and play video games.

you live in the northern part of westchester county. i seriously doubt anything dangerous would happen at night in an abandoned warehouse. unless you consider unprotected sex in a back room and suburban kids high on their parents' prescription pills dangerous.

Unfortunately, girls his age have already seen his moves, so he's now working on 6th graders.

Nala, no respectable property owner is going to risk lawsuits by hosting a large mob of underage unsupervised kids looking to party.

You could arrange for a gathering in a NY state park but youll likely need a permit and have to supply them a special insurance policy, plus you might need a security deposit to protect the park from damages

Nala, if you took the initiative, planned it out, and executed it successfully with not much help, you will be the host of the party. Being the host of something with over 700 people gives you some major points. You can do whatever stupid dance move you want and you could still probably get some. I say do this. Nala is going to be a pimp, the world is going to end soon.

I'm sorry Nala but I don't think you posses the mental capacity to pull something like this off. I think you should scrap this idea and try attaching another TV tray to your QX4.
