Just replaced my shift knob. The stitching matches my sports seats strip. However Im not completely satisfied with this because the knob even though it says its black its different from the leather that is on the bottom. What do U guys Think? Should i put the old one back or keep this one?

After 3 attempts to upgrade to LED rear turn signals and being unimpressed with the low visibility in daylight, Moedawg and others recommended Vleds. I went there today and treated my "Black Beast" to the new
V3 Triton Amber LEDs and base. I also got the new Vled 6k back-up LEDs.
Only draw-back is they are both brand new and not officially available till mid-late March, but I pre-orderd and they will ship to me as soon as they arrive!

I also installed a new dashboard cover I found on Ebay. Not one of those fuzzy carpet ones but a new material I hadn't see before called 'Warp-Knit'. It was a perfect fit with cut-outs for all the sensors, etc. It came with velcro tabs and looks great - no reflections on the inside of the windscreen and it matches the balck dash perfectly !

Got it on Ebay:

Today I took the black beast to the dealer for an oil change (Mobil synthetic) and checked out the new M hybrid. Still not sold on the newer wavy style but it proports to avge 20+ mpg mixed driving. It didn't ride any better than my car but I like the door trim design and the placement of the screen and a/c vents.
Before you scream at me for using a dealer for oil changes let me say this. My service guy throws in the 150-point inspection for free instead of the normal one-page thing they do with oil changes and I get a written report with every item they looked at. I also get a free wash and vaccuum and watch a little CNN in the lounge with free beverages and snacks.
After I got home, I changed the air filter, cabin filter, and both seat filters (took about 30 minutes). Then I did the Griot leather service and interior wipe down.
I have to say, the cabin filter did NOT look cruddy but not clean either BUT it made a huge difference in cabin cooling and the air smelled much cleaner. As far as the seats, those filters didn't look all that dirty either but I couldnt remember the last time I changed them and I get them very cheap at auto-geek (around $35 for a set of two).

Costee, I didn't know you were a member here as well. In fact I think I've only seen one pic of your car on My6thgen.

How difficult is the replacement of the start button with the red GTR button? Did you get the bourbon (or as you described it, "peanut-butter") interior from a wrecked M?
