Tyler "nvrplzd240" has been in a serious accident

As of right now from talking to his dad he has possibly two broken ankles. The car was so mangled after the wreck they had to use the jaws of life to extract him from the car. Hes very lucky to be alive, Ill update this once I get more info from his dad later. Please keep him in your thoughts.

Ok, I just got off the phone with his dad. His right ankle is broken and they are going to do surgery on it to put a pin in it. His left ankle was dislocated but they were able to get it popped back into place without causing any damage. Hes sitting up and talking at the hospital but hes heavily medicated so were still not clear on how the accident happened. His dad is going to call me later tonight to let me know what else is going on and how the surgery went and how long he might be in the hospital for.

He was travelling around 45mph, when a van turned directly in front of him. When talking to him last night at the hospital, he said he was wearing a hoodie, so his harness was really snug on him. He remembers that during the crash his body really didnt move at all except for his head and neck area. I think if it wouldve been a seatbelt as opposed to the harness his injuries wouldve been a lot worse.

He'll be ok. He texted me this morning to tell me about it and it sounds like he's doing as well as possible. He was pretty fortunate, the impact was brutal.

Wow, that's awful. He's fairly lucky to get away with the injuries he did, that foot well is pretty damn caved. And if he had a seatbelt he'd probably be looking at some broken ribs.

That's the 240's roof, waterhead Fire & Rescue always cuts the roof off a car to get to an occupant.

Harnesses rule. I got in a crash in my baja car doing roughly 30 MPH. I slammed into a rock and felt surprisingly good afterwards. I felt it the next day but damn, it could have been worse.

Holy crap, that looks terrible! I'm glad he got away with minor injuries, it looks like it could have been really bad. What is it that everyone says about harnesses and how they are bad unless you run a full cage? This seems like it helped here, but is it just since he didn't flip? Hope you have a speedy recovery man.

My Aunt was killed in a car wreck recently and the car wasn't damaged nearly as bad as that one.
