Anyone else follow this group? This group dubbed "anonymous" is a vigilante group set in their ways to stand up to the government and provide REAL justice to the large companies that were untouchable and "make the rules". They dont believe the government has the rights to censor the internet. They have hacked child pornography websites, posting the info off all people who logged into the site on there forums for the world to see these perverts. They have hacked and shut down government websites, and this is only the beginning. These are the 21'st century freedom fighters! Even if you dont agree with them, post and tell me why!!

So they can censor those ones then...

sounds like a bunch of E-terrorists if you ask me.

Companies pull their funding from certain things (Wikileaks), so they crash said company's website. First of all, it was their choice to fund it in the beginning, and it is their choice if they wish to stop funding it. They should be thankful they got any funding at all.

Some of their stuff is good, but overall, they are attempting to rule with fear... IE terrorism.

I would say they should stay out of the private sector unless they know a company is doing something illegal and the government isn't stepping in. Otherwise, stick to corruption in the government and expose them. I'd really like to see a financial audit for Rhode Island's government. High taxes across the board, nothing to show for it.

dude ur not listening. There not censoring the websites, there exposing them! They shut down the Malaysian?? ( i think ) government website when there was so much turmoil over there and the citizens were suffering from the governments actions. They never shutdown sites for revoking funding, It was WHY they revoked the funding. There is alot bigger picture than what ur seeing i think. Wikileaks released info EXPOSING these big companies and THATS why they revoked funding to wikileaks and THATS why they attacked these companies, not cause they were mad there bandwidth wasnt payed for.

You claim to be all for free internets, but you would censor Jesda's lol. I for one dream of a truly free internet where people can to lol when they choose.

go ahead i cant stop you from posting useless s*** in my thread, i simply asked for VALID opinions, never once did i mention wanting to censor out his useless info. I asked nicely for REAL replies.

BTW this isnt about "free internet" this is about stopping the giant companies that believe because their tower is the highest in New York they are also above the law, Its about revealing all the pedofiles and creeps praying on our children, Its about justice!

should a police officer be able to speed cause he has a badge? f*** no
Should a police officer be able to arrest me for filming him? f*** no
Should a huge CEO get off on statutory rape because he can afford a better lawyer? f*** no
Should a country be ran by 1 single person calling all the shots and live in luxury while his ppl suffer? f*** NO

OH. Ok, I guess the police should go the speed limit even when they're heading to a domestic disturbance call, or a murder, or a rape, or a public safety situation, just so they won't make you mad.

I mean, if you can't speed just because you want to, they shouldn't be able to speed to prevent harm. Makes sense :bigthumb:

For everyone saying they have done nothing and are just some kids who cant orchestrate any plans. Read that. There efforts have resulted in several criminals being jailed.

pussys cause they wont reveal their identity? Hahaha i wouldnt wanna go to jail either if i was them. Hiding their identity only lets them continue to do what they do it doesnt make them pussys.

Ok. This thread is now on my radar. I'm going to keep an eye on it.

OP...while I understand your passion, don't let these people on here get to you. Don't take it personally. They treat everyone, include the staff, like this. It's just how we are. We accept it and we get on with our lives.

If you feel you are talking to the wrong crowd (we are a car enthusiast forum), trying to push your ideals on us won't help the cause.

Im a car enthusiast too which is why im here, proud altima owner and the forums are great, maybe not the right crowd to ask for an honest opinion tho. Language is done, my apologies. I can take the abuse too thats expected when u ask for an opinion, i just wish people would get their facts straight before posting untrue facts or useless info. Wow, my first thread ever and its on the mods "radar" haha sry to complicate your day.

Ps I still welcome your legitimate responses good or bad

Not causing any complications to my day. I have 3 boys ranging in age from 2-10, so the stuff I see on here is quite the opposite.

People on here get quite passionate about what they discuss, and that's fine. But when stuff starts to get heated, people start personal attacks and then it gets out of hand.

As for the content of the thread, I don't follow groups like Anonymous.
The way I see it, everyone has a reason for doing something/everything. But, it may not always be for the better good. It can sometimes cause more harm than help and then they try to justify their actions.

What I can say about them is that since they try to hide behind their anonymity, it makes them no better than certain religious groups that say the same kinds of things. Quit being so self righteous and step out and take responsibility and use your skills to work with certain govn't groups and do more than hack into companies just to say you can.

im just gonna start pming you when i need any questions answered, Thank you for a real reply and an honest opinion. I agree and disagree with you at some levels. While it isnt the best way to go about things (hiding behind a mask) its currently the only way. If they came out and exposed themselves, JAIL! Then they cant do anything.

I think alot of what they have done is great, sometimes taken to far may be true.

An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind. This could be good. This could be dangerous.

Calm down, kid.

You're acting like a 13 year old who just discovered streaming internet p0rn. Anonymous has been at it for years, and its so fragmented that you can't refer to it as a single 'heroic' group anymore. Groups of hackers who claim to be Anonymous branch off and do whatever they want, regardless of the impact on private citizens.

So yeah, its fun when the main organization goes after Paypal for blocking donations to wikileaks, but its not so cool when large numbers of them decide to hack a web site, take all your logins and passwords, and throw them on ThePirateBay.

I agree with Jesda. Anonymous is certainly not a group I would want against me. That said, I'm sure most folks enjoy when bad guys "get what's coming to them" , but when many innocents get caught in that cross-fire, which commonly happens when large entities are attacked, that enjoyment disappears especially if you are one of the unintended victims.

quoted for truth. There is not a single "anonymous," it is just a catch-all name for different people and groups use to do whatever they want and place the social and criminal attention on a vague "hacker collective." Many things done under the banner are contradictory and the agendas are too numerous to count. Example, back when one group was hacking sites like PayPal, etc. for the wikileaks thing, there was another group trying to crash wikileaks itself. Also, some of what was done, while maybe intended for good, was done in a harmful way. Like the exposing holes in the playstation network by publishing the account information it contained. That's like stealing peoples' cars to prove that car alarms don't work well enough or something. Not exactly a valiant act.

OP posts link and solicits opinions. Said individual gets opinions, but rejects them because they are not what he appears to have been expecting.

He promotes group that claims to be for freedom on the internet, but attacks websites thus engaging in a form of censorship, the very thing they are supposedly against.

Irony can be pretty ironic sometimes.

Thanks guys now were getting somewere! This is what i wanted! I do not need to calm down as i never got angered in the first place, Maybe i was a bit excited about everything and wanted to show anyone who hasnt seen the videos but whats wrong with that?

Bcar, to my understanding the whole Playstation thing was them trying to SAVE our information from getting put on the net,

Was sony not trying to buy our ip's from a 3'rd party company? yup they were. And anon shut down the site as a warning, NOT THE PLAYSTATION NETWORK CRASH.

Maybe i got my info mixed up but thats what i thought happened.
