I have not tried the Ziebart products, but I am a complete believer in the Zaino product line ... That is awesome stuff - much beyond traditional waxes of any kind!

I use http://www.rejex.com/rejex.html . Love the stuff, and easy to apply and wipe off.

Zaino makes a great product. My favorite wax that's easily available at auto parts stores is Meguiar's NXT Tech Wax.

I would also recommend anything from Optimum Car Care. It was originally recommended to me by the professional detailer who did a major detail on my car last year. I use their No Rinse Car Wash and it makes washing my car so much easier. Their wax is also excellent.

The best way to protect your Black M45 paint is to wash it once a week. Its sun and pollution that pits the clear. The base coat clear coat has made protecting and waxing obsolete.

now for bling you can't beat the NEW clear shine of Turtle ICE etc for ease of application and long lasting bead.

I assume you mean hand wash? trouble is, I live near Washington D.C. - where its do d****d cold to hand wash for many months of the year.

What's consensus about automatic washes? (No "touchless" washers nearby).

I hear lots of contradictory stuff: Wash after every rain /snow. But don't wash too often. NEVER use auto washes. (Excpet what do you do after snow, with salt around, and 20 degress outside!)

Thats why I wondered about something liek Zeibart poly-coat - which clams to give you good protection for a year or so. Is that BS?

Thanks again for input evrybody

Avoid automatic washes if you can avoid them. The brushes don't do your paint any favors. With regard to the washing in cold weather issue, do you have a garage? If so, get some Optimum No-rinse wash. All you'll need is a bucket of water and a microfiber towel to wash your car. The stuff was recommended to me by professional detailers and really works well.

I use the Ultima line of car care products. The Paint Guard Plus (although slightly expensive, but lasts a long time) is truly amazing! Easy to apply, and keeps car smooth and shiny! Even bird-droppings does not eat into the clear coat. Living here in Hawaii, with all the salt breeze and very sunny, this product is just amazing!!!

Zaino products will give you a great looking shine. Unfortunately, you will have to spend the better part of a weekend claying the car then applying and removing up to three or four different products. Not for me, but very popular with the show guys.

I used Rejex on my C-6 Corvette (which unfortunately I no longer have), and really like it. Very good protection and great shine. Easy to apply and remove also. It is extremely smooth and slippery. Bugs wipe right off with a damp cloth. I Just put a coat on my new M-35.

There is NO product that will give you more than four to six months protection, so you just have to be prepared to spend the time and effort on a relatively regular basis to keep the finish protected.

Thank for all the input. Decided to go the Zaino route - spent the day today washing, claying, polishing - looks and feels fabulous.

Thanks again.

+1 on the Optimum No Rinseand +1 on the Paint Guard Plus

I don't have access to a hose, and the car looks amazing after 10 minutes with the No Rinse and another 10 minutes with the Paint Guard Plus.

I used to be a Zaino zombie...there was nothing but Zaino in my product lineup. Then I started detailing with a friend of mine and branched out. My standard detail now includes:

Poorboy's polishes and glazesSonus polishesOptisealCollinite

However, I have found that Zaino makes the best tire gloss product and their leather products are pretty good for the price. I still include a Z5 Pro/ZFX/Grand Finale mix as a polish in my details and use Z6 as a QD.

Resistall will do the trick, and it's gauranteed. If bird droppings etc do manage to damage the paint and it won't polish out, they'll repaint the affected area for you.Oh, and you'll never have to wax again Same applies for the interior.

I've been using Zymol products on all my cars, seems to work perfectly fine for me.

What's your opinion on Collinite compared to Zaino?

Advantage of Zaino, specifically, Z5 Pro, is that it polishes, hides and protects while Collinite only protects. I have found that Collinite tends to last longer than Zaino. I tested this last winter when I garaged my Maxima and drove my Rav4. After six months (Oct-Mar), the Rav4 still had Collinite on it even though it had been driven 7,000 miles in crappy weather while the Maxima, which had been done with Z5 Pro and sat in the garage, showed that the Zaino had broken down in the same time frame as water failed to bead as well as on the Rav4.
