Well, it looks like I'm finally going to get my engine up and running after spending god knows how long changeing my head gasket. So now I'm getting into the performance aspect of things. One thing I'm considdering as installing a dry nitrous system. (Yes I have read the nitrous sticky) I was wandering if anyone has any experience with the new ZEX cone filter that has the adapter on it to hook a nitrous line directly up to. I have been seeing this on alot of the import tuning shows (Hi-Rev, Super Tuner, etc.) as well in many mags. This system seems like it would work well, exspecially in the aspect of allowing the nitrous plenty of room/time to become atomized in the air stream. I am only looking to add a 50shot (Or even less if possible) to just have a little fun with. Below is a picture of the filter. Just wanting to know what some of your opinions are. Also, I probably will be going with a Nitrous Express for the overall nitrous system, I just like this method of delivery.Ryan

Well, I do plan on eventually going direct port, but not untill I can get some stonger parts in my engine to handle the added power. For now I'm just looking of rsomething to have a little fun with, without running to much risk of doing serious damage to my engine.Ryan

guys, we have Hot wire AFMs. How do you think they will like getting Nitrous sprayed on their metering elements:thinker

Hot wire AFM's?? In risk of sounding real stupid, what are those? I'm not new the the 240sx, but this is my first venture into adding any large amount of HP to one. As always, any help I can get is greatly appricated.Ryan

your flow meter uses a heated wire to measure air flow, voltage from that wire sent to the computer represent that. Now your nifty new filter sprays ungodly cold Nitrous Oxide right on it. A possible result is it just assumes you are flowing like 1,000,000 CFM all of the sudden and hammers your injectors wide open trying to compensate and things go downhill from there possibly resulting in serious engine damage(remember this scenario occurs at the same time you are firing a shot of Nitrous Oxide into the engine) This filter was obviously intended for Hondas who use a pressure sensor to calculate air flow and would not be affected by it. If you want to run the squeeze mount the injector after the AFM and watch your A/F ratio;)

that would only work if it were a wet shot.On a dry shot you have to assume that the injectors will go to 100%, as such many people runnning less that a 50 shot have the problem of being SLOWER on nitrous than on motor.
