I just had the passenger side headlight replaced at the dealer. Prior to its replacement both were blue in color. Now the lamp replaced is yellowish white. The dealer says it will change to blue over time. Is this correct?

Don't think so. What vehicle? Did they use a Sylvania D2S?

I don't know what type of bulb the dealer used. All I know is it's a different color and for 100 bucks I want it to match.

Why don't you ask? Should be OEM.

$100 sounds too cheap for a OEM with dealer labor. Watch out for the old switcherooo for a cheap Chinese part.

Honestly, I'd pull it out and compare it to your other bulb. It's probable the one they put in has a different kelvin rating.

Sylvania doesnt make d2 type xenon gas filled bulbs. Philips or Osram are the only two that you should even consider as they contribute 100% of all OEM xenon bulbs. To answer your question, a brand new d2s or d2r bulb will ALWAYS be whiter. These bulbs are whiter the newer they are and get bluer over time. Honestly you should never have bought the bulb from the dealer as you can get a BRAND NEW set of d2s/d2r bulbs on Ebay for $50-70. I also can sell you a brand new set for $70 shipped if you want/need.Hope this helps

So much for Xenon's being "lifetime" bulbs.

Well that is a good selling factor for advertising, but they are rated at 2000 hours of lifetime which should last at least 100K miles on car, not many cars even last that long.Good thing is if you know where to look they are fairly cheap bulbs, though

I'd be interested in a set. My passenger side light went, out, after the dealer replaced the "whole assembly" for $1300 due to damage. My question is how do you take the bulb out. I am fortunate to have a new housing and see it's held in by by a spring clip but I can't get at it. Your help would be greatly aprrecaiated. Please send the details on ordering the bulbs too. Thanks - Tom
