Ive been trying to buy a Chuki for quite a couple months now but it seems my options are dwindling due to the fact Im currently driving a 94 Ford F350 beast(not mine necesaraly) thats killing me on gas; Im going to have to "settle for less". I plan on doing an RB25 swap, so I have a few questions due to the early model Zenkis being SOHC and how I should consider settling for the early model 240s. I hear there are usually issues with the A/C compressor from the SOHC engine not bolting up to the SR engines without a custom adaptor, is this true for an RB25? Also what kind of PS reservior and tach issues am I going to have due to the influence the SOHC engine has on the cars design? Thanks.

Welcome, may I suggest you use the stickies above, most all of which can answer your questions... As far as the zenki swap, thats how mine started as an 89 with an RB25.. now its basically a 91+ Chuki.. It really doesnt mater for the tach to work LS auto does that, AC good luck, going to need a tig welder and some now how. PS lines you will need 91+lines or you will have to get something custom made like I did.

I'd tried searching, found nothing. Searched for keywords zenki and 90 89 in the rb forum, even that general of search criteria couldnt find me anything. Thanks for the info.

reason you didnt find much searching for the zenki s13 is because there wasnt one...read a swap on how to do a sr swap into a 89-90 car the basics are the same and the things that need to be replaced are the same as a rb swap...then only thing thats really diffrent is wiring.

Alright, in that case is using the rb compressor and recharging the system an alternative? Or are their complications with the RB design? Sorry if the questions are week, just want to confirm.

Also, sort of off topic, but is $4200 for a 92 5sp hatch with 113k miles on it in "good"(not excellent) condition a fair price? This guy wants 4600 for it but the lowest he goes is 42, I figured $3600 is a fair price. 240s are so hard to find in my area...

4.2k for a s13 is a ****ing joke, i got my s14 for 4k even and it was hella clean...and just use the rb compressor and have custom lines done up.

lol... Some of the things he was saying was kind of funny. "Oh yeah, I could get $6000 on eBay for it easy"... "Yeah, I think I'll just put it on eBay, ya know"... He only has me wondering because Chukis seem so damn hard to get in my area. I do 50 miles searches every day of used s13s on 2 different sites and get like 1 decent car a month. I try to stay away from beaters though since I need a daily driver right now. But anyways, thanks for the help.

Not to thread jack, but what do you consider pignose S13's if not zenki?

Rereading that I thought he meant there wasnt anything on the zenki, which there really wasnt. But pignose = zenki

oh ok, nm. Yeah ive never seen an RB25-Pignose write up, but the zenki and chuki are pretty similar, Ive done rb20 swaps into both with not a lot of hassles between them. 25 may be different though, I know the wiring is a LOT more involved.
