First post/quick intro:
I've been a lurker on this site since '97 and have been helped out of many technical jams thanks to the members here. I have owned 4 s14's and have had them torn apart and put back together countless times. Needless to say I'm a bit of a 240 junkie. Anyway, I can't seem to find any info on this, (I have been searching for days on this site and every other s-chassis site I know of).

'95 ka. My tach needle will rise normally until about 2500 to 2700 rpm and just hover there until my actual engine speed drops below that point. Engine runs perfect and revs clear to the limiter. It appears and sounds like the needle is accurate up until that point. Its as if there is an obstruction keeping the needle from turning completely. I can't sort out if it is a signal issue or a mechanical issue with the actual gauge. I'm curious if any one has come across this. Thanks in advance!

Haven't came across this particular issue but sounds like the motor in the actual gauge is going out.

Thats kinda what I was afraid of. I was hoping I wouldn't have crack the cluster open, but you are probably right. Thanks for the input.
