My RB25 motorset came with a really nice logo "Zenitani" emblazoned on the timing cover. I tried to Google it but came up with nothing. Does anyone know what it refers to? Is it just the JDM equivalent of an APC sticker or what?

Odds would say you are correct, It IS a tuning shop over in japan. Go to altavista and you can find a few pics of thier cars or just any search engine. Zenitani seems to do some pretty good work.

If its a built engine by them, you are a lucky bastard. I thought i lucked out with a nismo clutch and HKS 3" downpipe on my motorset, guess not!

odds of that are nearly nil.

i thought I got lucky with the mines ECU. a fully built engine would requre a large series of bad decisions and screw ups.

think about it, if you spent a ton of money to have a shop build you an engine, and wrecked the car. wouldnt you remove the engine a sell it or put it in something else? most people dont let them go to waste in a junkyard.

As much as finding a built motor would be awesome, at the same time, i want a virgin motor that hasnt been screwed with by someone in japan, becuase chances are, its been driven to hell and back.

oh ok, i get it then

kansei... my motor had some performance stuff on it, and something spliced into the ECU harness, but when i cracked open the valvecovers, everything looked brand spankin new. I'm guessing the engine was driven hard, but taken care of at least. Such is the luck of the draw with getting JDM engines.

Zenitani also makes some bitchin body parts like a fiberglass rear seat cancel for the R32, so the car your motor came out of could have had some Zenitani body parts as well.

Now I'm mad. All I got was HKS valve covers, SSQ and Nismo chipped ECU.

I doubt the engine is fully built but it pulls S-T-R-O-N-G at only 7psi. I know the turbo is stock but it could explain why my R33 motor has an R34 NEO CAS and (probably) exhaust cam. Either way, I'm still going to baby it like it an unmolested engine. No plans to turn up the boost or upgrade yet because I have to buy a house. Man, this whole growing up thing really sux (I'm 27 BTW)

EDIT: you may find more searching for it as "Zeni Tani" but idk, good luck.

Edit 2 lol: i also found this http://www.meggala.com/zens13rb26.jpg "ZeniTani rb26 in s13 silvia" from what i've seen so far they're a pretty sweet shop.

Alot of times, people over here don't abuse their engines like people there in the states do. Cars over here are like a child. People take real good care of them. There are several guys I see pretty regular that have built motors in their cars, but you never hear them raging on them. A lot of times, they do it just to have it. Other times, they are used once or twice a month on circuit tracks.

9 times outta 10, the engines you guys will get are in real good shape. You might get that 1 time where the owner never gave it an oil change.
