Hey guys, the 350Z is my dream car and there is one thing that's bugging me. Are the Z's now built on truck platform? I was told this and I wanted to confirm it. If it's true, what truck? from what I know, the Z33 was built from the ground up as a new car, not even with connection to the previous Z32 or, god forbid, Z31 models.

your fiend is either an idiot and just messing with you, not truck parts here, trucks are built on chassis, the Z33 is a unibody car just like every z ever built, and no the z33 does nto share any parts with any previous generation of Z, al Z's have been 2 seater, rear wheel drives, powered by 6 cylinder motors, with 4 wheel independany suspension, and thats about all they have in common

on second thought, the R200 diff in the Z33 has been in Z's since the late 70's, and is also found in some of the turcks, as well as the 240sx, and a bunch of other cars

it's the front-midship layout-but not based on a truck the FX shares thesame layout...but to my knowledge that's as close a Z comes to any truck
