Hi,

does any know anyone who makes Z33 gearbox adaptors to the RB engines? in particular the RB25 and RB26??

or better yet an adaptor for a T56 tremac to RB adaptor?

?
if you're planning on using a different transmission for an rb,
i know that vg transmissions from the z32 bolt right up to the rb25 bellhousing,
but i'm unsure about vq transmissions...
the shifter will sit 4 inches back or so of the original shifter location (with z32 trans).
but you can either cut and weld to get it to the spot,
or buy a bracket made specifically for this setup. (i don't know the brand/website, but there is a company that makes it)

ive been told that the Z33 boxes are alot stronger than the RB25 ones. ive eaten 2 Rb25 boxes. so i can eitehr run a ppg gear set in my rb25 box or use the z33 boxes or a t56 tremac box if i can find someone who has done an adapter for them

I would check over your sources first. Try working at a Nissan dealership and seeing how many Z33 trannies fail on stock 350Zs. You'll think otherwise. If you are blowing up RB25 trannies all the time, I would re-consider my daily driving habits.

I put over 50,000 miles on my RB26 equipped 240sx with an RB25 transmission, over 100 drag launches (revving to 5000 RPMs at the tree), and was pushing a hair over 400HP, and never had a single failure......FYI.......

500kw that's probably because u got done with the ls2 into RB swap. ;)

What exactly are u breaking in the RB25 trans? They are pretty stout transmissions and I know there are a few people that are making pretty big power on then and not having too many issues.

If you are really looking for the highest holding power you are probably best off swapping to a th400. Its an auto but to be honest with that kind of power I assume u are building a car in part for drag racing so the auto is probably a good way to go anyways.

the ls2 swap was for another project ;)

ive discovered that the rb25 boxes are ok for 450-500kw anything over that they dont last too long.

Ideally i would like to go to a getrag or t56 tramac.

i thought about using the TH400 but still love the manuals.....
