I read an article about putting a JWT cluch/flywheel kit from a 350z into a 240sx with a sr20det. They didn't go into detail about any modifications. It talked about the flywheel being 10mm larger in diameter than the oem.

My question is will I be able to put it on my trans (s13 blacktop) without modification? If I do need to modify it what do I need to do?

Why would you want to put a z33 flywheel/clutch when there are plenty of choices for both of those parts for the SR?

Nissan Performance Magazine did this with their SR

It's beneficial because you can add clutch contact surface and get better grip without sacrificing driveability by having some 6 puck drag clutch or something. More torque capacity without any loss in driveability, and the wear characteristics will be far better because there's alot more area absorbing the "shock". I want to get that set up so bad. Shoot an e-mail to JWT about it and find out how to score it and how much!

Teddy, I want to be able to upgrade the clutch for future HP gains in the engine. Right now I believe (not sure) but the stock clutch is good for about 250hp. So I was looking for possible OEM upgrades. I also heard the 300zxTT's clutch will work also.

Fatty here is the link.

i dont know anything about modifying clutches but if the 350z fly is +10mm the u will need to fab a 5mm spacer for the starter and modify the bellhousing to properly accept the new location of the starter. theres probably more mod'ing than that though but why bother with the hassles when there are very good clutches already? if your looking for high clamp loads and still have good petal feel just get a twin disk clutch.

I have that set up on my redtop. I did not have to fab anything. It works great. My 510 lays down 345 rwhp with this clutch /flywheel set up. It rocks.

Namwons I am refering to the clutch and pressure plate. The flywheel is the same. The starter runs the flywheel, so you don't have to change it. But, the stock clutch is a smaller diameter than the flywheel and the 300z clutch is only slightly bigger in diameter than the stock one but still smaller than the flywheel.

So, quickdime you are running the 300zxTT clutch on yours?

if the maxima vg clutch works in the sr i would think the z32 one would too right?

so the 350z clutch is a bolt on?

whats the torque capacity and the price differences of the maxima, z32, and 350z compared to, lets say an exedy stage 2 clutch?

answers to these questions would be very appreciated cuz i need (want) a streetable clutch for 320-350 lb/ft.

i second the fact of needing a clutch for 320-350, would love to be 100% sure this works

i think a z32 has a bigger clutch than a maxima, and you have to drill some holes in the z32 pressure plate inorder for it to bolt up to an sr20det flywheel

if up put a stock z32 z33 clutch on an sr20det it wouldn't engage as fast as an act street/strip

Why bother with this madness, run an SR clutch and leave the retrofitting at home.

okay, here we go. 300ZX NON-TURBO pressure plate and clutch disc will work, as per SCC, if you take your flywheel in to a machine shop and have them drill and tap new bolts holes in the outside of the flywheel for the slightly (10mm) larger 300ZX NON-TURBO pressure plate. just to set the record straight. but the bolt pattern is different, so it's not bolt-on. and you just use a stock or aftermarket RWD-SR flywheel and have it drilled and tapped for the 300ZX NON-TURBO pressure plate.

ACT Street/Strip clutch doesnt engage fast. It does give a stiffer pedal than a Spec Stage III 6 puck and has been holding 350whp for a few months now with going drag racing every weekend. I say just do this or RPS Max Street.
