I dunno the stock setting but when dealing with turbo's advance is dangerous, especially if you're running high boost, good way to trash a motor

Stock should be 15 degrees. There are a lot easier and better ways to make big HP with a Z32. No need to really mess with it too much.

NSR is right the stock timing is 15 degrees. Factory spec is 15 +/- 2 degrees. I put mine right on 15 for every car I do. If you want more power try a basic "stage 3 they call it" upgrade, intake, downpipes, catback, boost controller, and a reprogramed ecu. That should net you about 400~ at the flywheel with stock turbos all at 15 degrees timing.

There can be gains by bumping your timing, but for basic mods, not much. Maybe 10-15rwhp AT BEST. With basic mods on a healthy car, you can pull 15-16 degrees...you can probably get away with 17, but its not a gurantee you willl gain anything, especially on pump gas. I would not go any over 17...i wouldnt even go 17. For basic mods without any dyno time to acctually varify any gains, i would stick to either stock base (15degrees) or if you really wanna bump it up, 16 degrees. With pump gas, a good motor build, and a good EMS you can bump the timing a good amount. I know a guy who *claims he was doing almost 30 degrees on C16 with a full EMS...
