Hey everybody. I've got a friend here in St. Louis with a '91 maroon TT and he just had the JWT ECU upgrade installed and the JWT Pop-charger to go along with it, but the engine is running on safety-boost levels (claimed 7psi). Anyone have any suggestions I can give this guy? VGs are too complicated for my tastes... He has original O2 sensors in the car (71,xxx miles on the car), and I made an uneducated guess that these may be problematic. I also already suggested that he reset the ECU, for the Pop-charger may have been installed after the ECU was. More suggestions?

go to http://www.twinturbo.net/

Look in the tech section.

Mine was running safety boost because of faulty knock sensor.Look up the secrtion on ecu diagnostics. Should give you a code 34 for knock sensor.

Knock sensor was going to be my first suggestion... did you guys install Boost Jets as you were instructed w/ the ECU? You won't run any higher boost without the boost jets. ECU just adjusts the fuel maps and retards the timing a little for the higher boost levels.
