what are the top speeds for the nonturbo and twin turbo Z32s (in MPH)? bone stock. i know the TT is limited to 155, but what if that limit was taken off? and i don't know anything about the nonturbo's top.

With stock sized tires, the TT will do 185 at 7,000 rpm and the NA 169.

Mine... 193 @ 7,000 and with the wheels and tires I want 209... if I were able to make the power necessary.

i believe the NA as well as TT has a limiter.top speed for TT is 155MPH?, unless modified and limiter removed (ecu upgrade)

if they tell you they go over 185, 169 or even 193, they are just full of crap.

though i've gone 190+ (needle straight down) w/ stage 3+

Those numbers I gave are based on a redline of 7,000 RPM, tires, and gearing... which is basically the highest possible speed the car can do if it were making the power necessary (raise the rev limiter, change the gearing, or get bigger tires to be able to go faster).

To reach them is another story though as you'll start to need more power, naturally. (I should have added that part in to my first post... spaced it out for some reason )

Anyway... don't trust what your speedometer says. At those higher numbers it won't be very accurate at all. A GPS unit will be a much better indicator.

With stock sized tires you could put in the Q45 3.538 differential and run the engine to 7,250 RPM for exactly 200 mph. If you keep the stock TT 3.692 differential and run the engine up to 7,550 RPM you would hit 200 MPH. Depending on how your engine is tuned, I would aim for a higher limit than 200 so that when you actually get to 200 you're in a decent power band. It may still be able to pull you up to that at redline but, like I said, just depends on how your engine is tuned. With that engine you have, it probably wouldn't be a problem having the total limit closer to 200 (running it close to its redline).

If the engine is setup for a limit of 7000-ish RPM you'll probably want to go to the 3.538 differential and get some slightly taller tires.

Just thought of another potential option. The Armada is available with a 3.36 and 2.94 differential. The 3.36 would definitely get you past 200 mph with stock sized tires and a 7,000 RPM redline. As far as actually using that diff... you could probably put the ring and pinion in a TTZ case as they're both R230's.

That's just based on gearing and the redline. You'll need quite a bit of power to actually attain it. I don't believe the NA will be able to get much over 150 with its power level and even then it would take forever to do and would likely be absolutely horrible on your engine. i.e. don't do it.

You would need almost exactly 600 flywheel hp in order to attain 200mph in a 300zx (679 flywheel hp in order to reach 209...) along with a significantly lower ratio differential than what is offered in the TT as well as some very carefully chosen tires.

The Armada is Nissan's newer full size SUV with the V8. I'm not sure if they have them over seas or what they're called if they do.

There was a Top Gear episode a while ago where Jeremy tried to break 200 in I think it was a turbo Lotus of some sort. They kept upgrading it and I forget the horsepower they made, but he couldn't quite break the goal. As they got closer it took a lot more power to get a few mph out of it. Wind, road and air friction etc was the enemy
