Yo this is my z32 drift build. My first car was a 1993 2+0 na 300zx. Got rid of it and eventually ended up buying a 1990 2+0 super white na mostly stock. Currently going on the third motor. How my z was when I first got it

After 3 months, added bc type br coils and 18x9.5+15 battles

Also picked up a jspec which would be the start of going away from stock body

Now I decided to buy a spare vg30de to swap in since the current vg at the time had a blowhead gasket, every gasket leaking, and rings gone lol.
Image

New vg I picked up, ordered a gasketkit and timing kit off of z1. Upgraded to bde motor mounts, stillen headers. Motor also had perfect compression.

And the old s*** vg is out for the new vg

New motor in thanks to the help of a couple of my good friends

Jspec on, new motor in and running great

Now time to focus more on suspension and aero. Im planning on dropping the subframe to replace the bushings, shimming my na diff, using the isr s13 rear arm kit and s13 front tension rods. Planning on getting either r32 knuckles or getting modified z32 knuckles.

Just a pic of my buddies and I

Now the aero starts, got s13 vspeed sideskirts, side diffusers, cslr spoiler, sti front lip

Image

The skirts need to be shaved slightly to sit flush but man they look good and only cost $120

Image

Also got a new exhaust setup, custom blast pipes. 2.5inch y pipe leading to a single exit to 3in blast pipes with 2 resonators. Man this setup sounds mean, makes the vg sound like a vq

Test fitting my cslr spoiler and put on a new hatch. Ignore my friend acting all gangsta lol

By now it's late October 2016, and I actually had a winter project to focus on since I was able to buy a beater. I decided I wanted to swap out the na vg for something else. I always loved the idea of going 1j in the Z but alot of research went down into what I wanted to swap. Could have went the tt swap route, or going na-t/na-tt with e85. But at the end, I decided to pick up a rb25det Neo from an import shop here in Chicago.

Image

The neo I picked up, literally fresh off a 60k, new water p
ump, thermostat, and timing. The motor is clean inside out and only picked it up for $1150+tax. The rb swap is actually pretty straight forward when putting it into the z32 chassis. I'll go over it later in more detail about the basic steps for the swap.

Got a isis(isr) intake manifold which is like the greddy intake. Front facing manifold that simplifies the motor alot.

McKinney mounting kit

So with McKinneys kit, everything from the trans back stays stock. So stock mount location, stock driveshaft. The z32 trans bolts up to the rb motors with just changing out bellhousings. The rb25/26 bellhousing directly bolts on to the z32 trans. With the mounting kit, all you need to do is flip the trans mounts 180° and youre set.

Custom rear sump pan Patrick Bowser made for me, the stock pan on the rb doesnt clear the crossmember on the z32. So you got 2 options, either modify the crossmember or switch to a rear sump pan to aviod the crossmember.

Dual pipe everythang lol, 3inch s14 downpipe.

Also picked up a legit bucket seat that my buddy and I split. I got one seat, he got the other lol.

For the swap so far, the parts are starting to pile up. The cost for putting a rb into a z32 could vary. For a stockish rb depending on price of motor, the price can 5-8k. Im around $7000 and the only thing I was able to upgrade was intake manifold, clutch, lightweight flywheel. Stock injectors, stock ecu, stock turbo. Obviously the work is being done with my good buddies and myself. In my opinion, for the price putting in a stockish rb, someone could have easily went with a na-t/na-tt setup with the vg. For around 5k someone could be pushing 400+ whp and on e85. Also for the price Ive spent so far, I could have dropped a built sr for around 7-8k. So it all depends on what you want to do. Also, all the work is being done by my buddies and I.

Was actually able to push the car out the garage today, first time the z has been out in 4 months. Focused on getting the bay prepped for paint and for the rb to drop in.

For the swap, since Im not trying to run a vmount setup, Im cutting into the rad support to make room for the rad since the rb sets alot closer up compared to the vg.

Im going to be running a fidanza light weight flywheel with a stage 3 spec clutch. Remember Im using a z32 trans with a rb26 pull type bell housing. For the swap, I can either choose a rb clutch or z32 na clutch.

New turbo lines

Order a harness from Wiring Specialties definitely worth the price, was $760 shipped to my house for a z32 rb neo swap.

Also got an oil cooler, going to be mounting it where the intercooler ducts are located on z32s.

So Ill keep updating you guys!
