I have a set of Z32 30mm alum. that I'm trying to rebuild, I've got the rebuild kit from PDM. The problem comes when I try to remove the pistons for the caliper. I'll get one piston out but from there is no force to build up to push the other pistons. I've replace the piston and tried again with a clamp on it, same problem occurs just on the otherside. How do I evenly get the pistons to come out . Thanks in advance.

Been there done that. This is how you do it. You should use air compressor with a rubber tip at the end. Block the holes with your fingers and blow the air. Make sure piston is not going to hit the clamp.

ok but once you get one piston out, it seem to be a air hole behind where that piston was, how do you block that??? I guess is my real problem. Thanks. email is [email protected]

That hole and the hole that you mentioned are connected. Replace the piston that's already out and use clamp to push it back in a little bit. That'll block the air hole you are talking about. By the way, you must disassemble calipers completely and work on each half.

Da** that's what I was trying to avoid, I've heard horrible comments about people taking them apart on once they reassemble there leaking. Any comments on that?

That's what I thought. Without disassembling it, you will have hard time using a clamp and such. You know what I'm talking about. You are not supposed to disassemble calipers and z32 FSM says so too, but you gotta do what you gotta do. I know some people buy small O-rings between the halves from ACE Hardware. Those are what's causing the leak. If yours are in good condition, you can reuse them. If not, you have to find some from hardware store since Nissan doesn't sell them. You should check with brake shops too.

I've sucessfully rebuilt Z32 calipers many times without actually splitting the caliper body. I used various tools to actually pull out the pistons one by one by grabbing it just under the lip (brake pad side) and sliding it out.be sure to protect the piston itself using a thick rag or something made of some sort of rubber. Get a good grip on the piston and pry it out CAREFULLY using the caliper body for leverage. Good luck!
