*Please dont scream at me for not looking I did try on the forum and out*

Ok so what I've understood by reading gniknave and japinos topics is that the rear z32 struts will fit if you use q45 top mounts which u need to "bore" out to fit the z 32 piston.

Also we would need to use z32 springs which is fine but it says the lower perch for the springs is too small.... Thats what confuses me if it is a z32 rear strut with z32 rear spring shouldnt that not be an issue.

Regarding the lower strut busing thats no problem either correct? It is just the top of the struts the perch and thats it that makes it difficult right?

All trolling comments removed.

Further trolling of threads, just because you disagree with the posters idea or intention may result in a banning.

And non-OEM does not equate to VIP, comments made drawing a direct connection between the two, only shows ignorance.

FYI, Z32 rear shocks and Q45 rear shocks are the same overall/compressed length. They offer no short stroke benefits. The spring perch sits lower on one of them, Z32's are bigger diameter, bottom mount is the same. Thats what I found.

Yes, still running FRONT Z32 shocks + brackets in the rear of my Q. And they're still shorter than rear Q shocks by almost 2".

Let me get this right. The rear strut and springs on the Q45 are the same as the Z32 but the Z32 are wider?

Im gonna toss on some rear Z32 suspension in the rear of the Q and if it's the same thing then I'm gonna have to save another to buy fronts.Let me know.Thanks.

They are very similar, not the same. I didn't say anything about springs b/c they are different: length, coil ID. Didn't i tell you this already?? This info is in numerous threads including the two that Yellow S13 posted in his first post. READ, COMPREHEND

I would say using a shock and spring combination for a car that is hundreds of pounds lighter is a pretty ignorant solution, but evidently accepatable by some Very Impaired Performance types.

Are you saying this type of modification is endorsed by this board since one guy of the hundreds who have passed through here has done it?

I would say quite the opposite is true!

And I certainly don't want to dumb us down to the level of another Honduh board.

I don't think anyone is disputing that suspension components made for a car that weighs ~12% less will not perform/last as long as ones designed for a specific car.

And I think people understand there are trade off's - stiffer = faster wear, lower = less travel, etc. If not less intelligently discuss those points.

As far as I know, NICO does not and has never endorsed any repair, modification or "part". members on the other hand do and have recommended repair methods, modifications, shops, installers and "parts". It's clear you don't endorse "fabrication required" modifications, suspension or otherwise.

Continued bashing of "VIP" simply for the purpose of insulting people (members or not) won't be tolerated.

Constructively join the conversation/discussion or just hit the Back Button.

In todays litigious society, I certainly hope Nico and /or its administrators/Mods dont endorse modifications that could affect the safety and lives of car owners and those who share the roads with them.

There are plenty of examples of owners fitting critical suspension components to vehicles that they were clearly not intended for, just to save a dollar or alter the "stance" of their cars with no evidence these parts are suitable for use on different models, short term or long term.

With so many young, inexperienced new owners joining the Q ownership ranks as evidenced on this board, it would be a shame to see Nico find itself in a legal entanglement with the family of an injured party.

* Maybe adding a "sticky" describing possible dangers of modifications and liability release statement- certainly worth broaching the topic with Ncos legal council if it has not already been discussed?

I quess what Rex is saying is if you don't have anything nice or knowledgeable to say then don't say it. Most of these guys won't be back. They trash their Q's then junk it!Like I said before most of these guys don't have any idea about maintenance, or the cash to do it! Personally I like VIP, I'm just too old!

Let's keep this on topic.
